Only LeBron could...

Have 29 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists and shoot 50% from the field and he is being said to have had a off game. No other player in League history could put that stat line in The Finals and be told how bad of a game he had.

He had an off game by his standards, and a very bad game on defense by anyone’s standards. He looked disinterested for much of the first half. In the second half, whenever the Cavs got close, Thompson or Curry hit dagger 3’s. You could see it wearing on LeBron. That first game took some life out of him. I expect him to roar back in Game Three.

Unfortunately we only look at offensive stats to see the value of basketball players. He's tired and doesn't play defense now. He takes possessions off. Look, this is the problem when you allow the superstar to coach the team. He needs to sit some. He would be much better in 35-38 minutes at 100% than 45 minutes at 70% or less. He simply does not trust his teammates, who he's picked. He especially does not trust young teammates.

He doesn't trust his teammates??? Ones that he's picked??? Seriously quit posting nonsense.

You realize most critics say the opposite too right? Bottom line he is carrying a lottery team to the finals. 8th straight. GS is just ungodly talented. Any of 3 can easily pop 30 on any given night, then add Draymond and some of the others. Adding Durant was over the top. In corp. business that would have been an Anti-Trust violation, lol.

He/MJ co-goats imo. Can't choose. Flip a coin. Will say this: A team of 5 Lebron's would DESTROY a team of 5 MJ's.

So in those 10-13 min that he rests, who in the hell is going to score ?

2016 James led all players on both teams in not only scoring... but rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks - including one of the most iconic defensive plays in finals history. And nearly again last year. I imagine it will be ditto this year.

If only he could do more, lol.

Unfortunately nobody. It's talent and coaching.

True. Anyone remember when the league vetoed the trade of Chris Paul to the Lakers, who had won 5 of 10 championships? That was 2011 I believe. They did it in the name of competitive balance (allegedly), but we all know the NBA actually owned the Hornets at that time, so they probably did not want to lower the value of the franchise.

Where was the league this time? Former league MVP signs with the winning-est team of all time (73-9). how can that happen?

having said that, Cavs win game 3.

Durant was a free agent, he could have went wherever he wanted. Also that was the year of the huge salary cap increase so it was just a perfect situation for GS and horrible for everyone else.

Durant also made it work. He could have gotten more money else where.
He also liked the style of play and was willing to do whatever was needed to fit in.
Would players like Kyrie, Westbrook or Harden want to play in the same offense ? Maybe.

Do whatever was needed ? He's just playing his game, with a dash of rim protector sprinkled in. If anything, they have adapted to him - not that it took much to do so.

Dash of rim protection ? Averaging 2 blocks per game and set a record for assists this year. Interesting his point of view now is doing whatever it takes to win. Some game passing, always defending now and when he needs to taking over the game. The entire team has adapted to each other. Hard to do.
Who had more talent on paper not long ago. OKC or Golden State ?

Absolutely.

He protects the rim like a sniper and mostly when convenient He bodies on no one.

Dude is quick, and IF he had a neck he'd be 7'3, but he's a lightweight. What are you watching ? As I said,

Watching a player whose overall game is now well rounded and much better than the Durant I used to watch as a scoring machine. Why body up when you can jump over or run around someone ? Tell me who in the league had more blocks last year within 5 feet of the basket. His game has evolved.

Did you note Barry McCockiner's profile ? At least he's up front about his intentions

Whose pic is that ? No guarantee that's even the writer, but the face looks familiar.

Got heem!! Right click is your friend. I was thinking of the show "Scrubs". I was off, but this still has a sort of comedic value -

This guy is the enemy of Darwin, too, not just MJ
