Gotcha. What little I know about the UFC comes from listening to Rogan, and it seemed like a pretty big fight from what I could gather. I'm looking forward to watching it.

To be fair, Conor could be fighting anyone and it would be hyped up as one of the biggest fights ever. But Khabib is a Russian destroyer on the mat. He mauls dudes like a bear. If McGregor doesn't KO him in the 1st or 2nd round, I think Khabib dominates.

I mean dude was wrestling bears as a kid...

Yeah, pretty much every MMA analyst agrees it's one of, if not the biggest fight in UFC history.

I think McGregor needs to finish him early to win. I’m sure he’s rusty and cardio has never been his strong suit.

What the heck is Volkov thinking at the end of that fight? He had it won if he can just kill 20 seconds.

Also Dominick Reyes is a guy to watch at LHW. Would love to see him against Jon Jones in the future.

If Conor didn't get fired for throwing the dolly at the bus and injuring multiple fighters, I doubt Khabib will for this.

The fact is, the Irish goon squad started this months ago. Should have expected the Russians wouldn't just forgive and forget.

Either way, not a good look for the sport.

Until the post fight my memory of tonight was going to be Pettis-Ferguson. It's a shame it ended in the manner it did because that was two guys straight just going at it from horn to horn.

I think Khabib will get suspended but there's no way he gets thrown out of UFC for the reason YelloJacket mentions plus he's going to be a huge draw for the wrong reasons now. His biggest worry might be getting arrested along with one of his teammates by Las Vegas police for assault after the fight?

It's almost like Russians don't find insulting their culture and their families funny, and are probably not the group of people you should f**k around with.

Numbers appear that the sport has at best reached a plateau. While the hard core fans will continue to watch and buy, the WWE-style crapshows like this need to end if they want to get the casual fan to remain interested and get new viewers. It may be time to replace the person at the top whose only qualification is being childhood buddies with extremely rich people. Credit due, he's taken it a long way, but the Peter Principle seems to have kicked in.

UFC should be embarrassed by that cluster. Not in just that it happened, but in that they were apparently so unprepared for it.

Khabib's not smart enough to realize that the perfect response to McGregor's idiocy is a good old fashioned butt whooping followed by a quiet and confident exit. McGregor's quickly becoming Ronda Rousey- a declining performer that people want to continue to see for some reason.

I guess I've been around long enough to know this is UFC 101. They love this stuff, regardless of what Dana White may say.

In regard to McGregor/Rousey, again, nothing new. This is why the UFC s$cks. Names draw. Average fans have no clue who the #2 or #5 ranked guy is in the world. They have just heard "Conor McGregor" over the past 5 years. Not to mention the Irish schtick BS sells like hotcakes. They do not want Conor to go away. He sells. Kabib Numawhateverhisnameis does not.

Same can be said of Ken Glamrock, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Mark Hughes, BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, George St. Pierre, and countless others. They will milk Conor and his persona as long as they can, not the #5 ranked guy no one has heard of.

Great fight? Yes. Top 3 of all time? No way.

Conor learned what happens when you f**k with someone who lives the life you portray.

One guy grew up middle class in a 1st world country, the other grew up in one of the roughest areas of the planet, literally wrestling bears when he was 9 years old. Can't say I'm surprised by the outcome.

That YouTube video of Khabib wrestling the bear is nuts.

I'm hoping for a Khabib Ferguson after Khabib returns from what I'm assuming is going to be a suspension. Then he can fight McGregor in a rematch so UFC can milk this for all it's worth.

I agree, Dana White will find a way to milk the Khabib villain angle for all he can.
