Help me understand

I know the polls are subjective and I don't put a ton of stock in them but how is Badin (4-3-1) and Rocky River (5-4-0) ranked 8th and 10th in girls DII? Badin is ranked ahead of Summit Country Day School that beat them 3-1 and have a better record. You've got Tipp City (10-1-1) with their only loss is to DI undefeated Beavercreek and a tie with D1 Northmont. I just don't get it. Tipp beat Carroll this weekend 1-0 while Badin and Alter tied them 1-1 and 0-0. Tipp's only given up 6 goals on the year with 3 to Beavercreek. Hopefully they will be given some respect on this weeks poll.

Have a look at maherrankings.com - their rankings also have flaws but they have the teams youíve mentioned in proper order at least. The website also accepts comments - whether they read them or not who knows.

State polls are determined firstly by the district voters. For example in D2 Badin keeps losing and somehow the district voters keep placing them above Summit. Because this is done it makes it so state voters would have to vote them above Badin in the state poll.
In some of the districts they have 2-4 teams that are legitimate top 10 teams in the state while other districts may get in the top 10 of state voting but may realistically be 30th best.
Just like we have seen especially in D2 every year. When teams get to the regional semi and regional final, one would think they are one of the best 16 or 8 teams in the state. Yet the scores end up being 8-0, 10-1 and so on.

State rankings are fun for pride and a level of respect, but the tourney is where itís at!!
