No Meyer and no JT. Half this forum would have nothing left to cry about every game.

Would be pretty funny when it results in an 8-4 season.

Well except her being an OSU employee and it being a Title IX violation for her not reporting abuse involving a student or employee. So he may keep his job and she could get banned from any school function...

Would probably make that trade given their respective salaries.

Horowitz and AJ Hawk are saying it's pretty much impossible for Urban to hang onto his job.
What a bunch of crap. Urban isn't his coaches father.

I think so. OSU is already facing bad PR with the sexual abuse from that dead doctor. This just adds even more bad PR on top of that, especially since it concerns such a high profile person. I think they’ll fire him

I could be wrong, but I don't believe this is a Title IX violation as the victim was neither a student nor an employee. I don't believe that she was legally obligated to report anything.

Title IX states: "a college or university that receives federal funds may be held legally responsible when it knows about and ignores sexual harassment or assault in its programs or activities”

Sounds to me that since the assault (abuser or victim) involved someone employed by the school, Title IX applies

Buckeye fans should be thanking that cheerleader he was banging in Gainesville for running him out of town and allowing him to resurrect OSU's program.

Adultering ftw

Somewhat vague language. Does "in its programs or activities" mean the victim must be a part of them program/activity?

Not defending it obviously, but that doesn't seem clear to me. I'm not an expert on Title IX though.

I interpreted it to mean the victim must be a part of the program/activity, i.e. a student or employee. It could definitely be clearer in that respect.

This seems like he's going to get fired now.

Who would be the top realistic candidates should the job open up next season?

If nothing else, I think this situation highlights a ton of problems with DV cases. Through occurrences with multiple police departments, a man who appears to have an established pattern of violence/abuse escaped charges. On at least one of those police calls, the victim appears to have shied away from pursuing charges for concern over the aggressor losing his job and not being able to financially provide for their children to the same degree. For the 2015 police call, then and current police reports seem to conflict over whether the aggressor was actually arrested or not.

With what's known, I'm not sure what happens with Urban. I think he's obviously out if it's proven that he knew, but there may be a case for (hard to believe) plausible deniability that his wife never informed him.

If his wife never informed him, she’s out of a job. Either way, someone in the Meyer family is about to be unemployed

Never mind; I'm a few minutes late on the administrative leave news. Presumably, this appears to be headed towards an eventual resignation/firing.

As far as theoretical replacements, regardless of how high his buyout may be I'd have to believe that the list would start with Matt Campbell.

If Urban throws his wife under the bus to save his job that probably elevates him to the #1 spot in the scumbag coach rankings

Mike Vrabel would be interesting if he were willing to leave an NFL gig.

I believe it also means when a employee member is involved...don't hold me to that.

The only way he’s leaving after 1 yr is if he’s fired.

We live in a culture where if anyone you know allegedly does something wrong and you don't report it to HR, you're f**ked

Interesting how 2 Assts with HC experience were passed over as Interim HC. Not surprising, both have a few skeletons in the closet from their last gig

Would move him up my rankings, but Rick Pitino will always have my #1 scumbag spot on lockdown.

It is literally in Urban’s contract he must report these things. He’s reaping the consequences of his actions
