Right. All the issues are with you. All you do is take shots. You started this thread. For what? What’s your comment? The coach has to go. And you didn’t even spell his name right. You have no idea who he is. But he’s a good target to stir the pot. Stay on your Hubbard threads and let Ursuline fans or at least fans of teams willing to play Ursuline criticize. If Hubbard played Ursulines schedule, they would never smell the playoffs! There’s enough cheap shots happening by your own team to keep you busy. Incredible talent. D-1, Big 10 and NFL calibrate talent. No disapline. Teams go 10-0 and never get passed the second round. But I guess somebody has to be the village idiot.
No time for this nonsense. So long all. Go Irish!! Good Luck Coach K. Their out with their torches!! Lead by the village idiot!!! LOL.

Lol my auto correct changed Kempe to kept. Guess it doesn't have "disapline" like your keyboard ICBM. Like I said. Sour grapes man. 48-32. I know this was suppose to be "the year" in Girard with Waid being a senior and all but you ran into a much better team. Hubbard has higher ambitions than a first round exit. I know the expectations aren't very high in Girard. I'm a fan of valley football. We had a good thread going until your grapes ruined it. Never going to get over that loss are you? 1 player can't be the whole team...

Lynn was the exception. Even then they couldn't knock off a top team.

They averaged between 35 to 45 points a game in Lynn's junior, and senior seasons. The only reason WGH did not win state those 2 years is because they had a below average defense.

You've got 3 of the best coaches for getting city kids on that staff. it's no wonder the numbers are growing.

Those same folks have at different times helped both Mooney and Ursuline.

It's no wonder that both their numbers are down but especially Ursuline's.

Folks were chirping about 10 years ago that Ursuline would be in very big trouble. They were just a little soon in their forecasts.

Probably get my head cut off for this but if it got bad enough could you ever seen a Mooney Ursuline consolidation?

I don't get this entire discussion. From what I have read Ursuline's enrollment is healthy and is up from last year. They should consolidate because they have a bad football team? A bad football team means the school is in trouble?

If this is the case, Walsh Jesuit better just board up the school. It doesn't matter that Walsh's enrollment is great, its football program is terrible and getting worse. They are 6-26 the last four seasons and are likely headed to 0-10 this year. They have not scored a point in their first two games.

Who cares about football if enrollment is doing fine. They will eventually be good again.

Yup. Enrollment is ok, not great. Certainly not what it was even 10 years ago.

Both schools have alumni with deep enough pockets to keep them in good shape for the long term even with enrollment lower than it's ever been.

BUT, there is a valid point to be made that if they did consolidate and all those deep pockets were contributing to one school they could build a heck of a school that would spare no expense and probably attract far more students than they currently do separately.

For lots of reasons it will never happen though.

It's to bad the alumni from both sides can't just swallow their pride and make it happen.

Also played tougher teams at Harding.

It would have been interesting to see how far Liberty or Ursuline could have gone with him on their teams.

I also think it is conceivable that they go 0-10 this year. I'm not sure that Mooney will be too much better if you take away the two Canadian teams. I certainly hope I'm wrong.
nice of you to pop in sir.

send either 4cards or I a PM if you take in any Mooney games this year

I don't disagree. Building a new school would be the key.

But I am pretty sure there are not too many schools with growing enrollments in the Mahoning Valley considering the region is right at the top in the entire nation in population decline. BTW Ursuline's enrollment is not the lowest it's ever been according to the ODE records.

FYI on Ursuline's Enrollment:

2008: 446
2009: 445

2017: 453
2018: 465

You add Lynn to Ursuline they win state every year he was there in my opinion, I believe they were D5 stil and were going far without him. But I think a lot of kids are staying at east, going to Hubbard/boardman and going to Mooney instead, nobody wants to hear it, but the kids just choose what school they wanna go to based on football unless you’re a legacy at the school when it comes to Mooney and Ursuline.

Sure, but Bowden had academic issues in both 7th grade at Boardman Glenwood and then 8th in the North Catholic feeder system...

There are other issues besides football at play here

He had no problem at Liberty, Harding, and now Kentucky. Must have been a Boardman, and Ursuline feeder problem for him. Heard he did not like either of those places. Good that he got away from them areas

Could also have been a maturity thing at Jr high level. Maybe in HS and College he realized he needed to put in the work in the classroom to play on the field/court.

No crap. Glad he found his way to Warren. Because I loved watching him play for the Raiders, the 2 years he was here. If WGH would have had a better defense for him, they would have had at least one more trophy in the case.

was he not a 19 year old senior?

maybe maturity helped but so probably did being a 19 year old in HS.

I might have been all state if I was a 19 year old playing against 15, 16 and 17 year olds

back to topic though, LC rolls in this game. LC looks to be back at a higher level after a few years of mediocrity.

Gonna be a long bus trip home for the Irish.

0-10 gets more real with every passing game.

When he was 15 and 16, he was ripping through 17, 18, and 19 year olds too. So it really did not matter that much
