I am one of those that had said it so bring it here.....

I am in no way affiliated with any MAC school but a huge HS Football fans who watches hundreds of games a season including MAC games as well as games all across the state of Ohio as well as other states. I am one who has stated that the top tier MAC school would beat at least 50% of D1 schools as well as the majority of schools in D2-D5. I do not think Marion Local would be able to beat Pick-Central, Hoban, or Trotwood this year. As for d4, yes, Marion Local could beat Clinton Massie if they win it.... I have yet to see Steubenville this year so no comment.

I base my opinion based on games I have seen over the years and my power ratings. The MAC have proven they can beat teams bigger and faster than them and have beaten some very solid clubs in Mooney and Ursuline. It rarely happens but when a MAC school has played a D1 team they have won every time.

I have often made claims that Parkway would beat Moeller and I hope all of those who have read that did not take me seriously but rather that I was just mess'n with the MAC hater in Hoser.....

Congrats to the MAC winning 2 more state titles this year and proving year in and out that they are the BEST conference in the state of Ohio.....

I know that St Johns put a beat down on a big Detroit school 5 or 6 years ago, not sure if they were D1, but when has another MAC school played a D1 or even a D2?

DSJ which was a .500 team that year defeated a D1 team in Worthington Kilbourne
Versailles defeated a D1 team in Northmont
One of the MAC schools possibly Coldwater beat a D1 equivalent Kokomo IND team....

I know off the top of my head, DSJ has played and beaten Worthington Kilbourne, who was D-1 at the time, Coldwater beat Kokomo from Indiana, which is D-1 size, and Ft. Recovery beat Jay County, IN, a D-2 size school.

Kokomo was no joke that year as I believe they went 9-1. This year Kokomo made it to the state finals in Indiana but came up short.

I watched that DSJ/WKB game. It was very intriguing because I was one back then that thought that the lower divisional schools could not beat the higher ones. It was a rude awakening as DSJ dominated WKB and this was a middle of the pack MAC school that year in DSJ.

Looked it up...my mistake. St. Johns lost to Detroit CC in 2011 14-7 DCC is D1....went 12-2 that year....losing in the D1 state final. St Johns beat lost to Marion Local in the state semis 21-14 after having beaten them 21-14 earlier. ML beat Buckeye Central by 40 to win the D6 title

D1- Not a Chance in H***
D2- Nope
D3- Wouldn't have beaten Trotwood so Marion wouldn't have gotten out of the region. Probably could've beaten Franklin or St Marys.
D4- Plausable. Probably State Runner up to Steub. Probably loses to Shelby as well. I believe Marion beats Massie.
D5- State Champions

Indiana is different than Ohio. Not as much Talent. That's why I say the MAC needs to schedule some bigger Indiana schools (that are winnable) to try to get computer points. Fort Recovery and Jay County needs to be a yearly game.

Did a quick scan back to 2000, so it's probably not complete. I also left out the Canada schools who were classified as D1 or D2.

2014
Fort Recovery (7-5) at Jay County (IN) (D2, 2-8)
Fort Recovery won 28-0

2012
Versailles (5-5) at Celina (D2, 7-3)
Celina won 46-26

2011
Detroit Catholic Central (MI) (D1, 9-1) at Delphos St. John's (10-4)
DCC won 14-7

2008
Kokomo (IN) (D1, 9-1) at Coldwater (12-1)
Coldwater won 41-7

2006
Delphos St. John's (6-4) at Worthington Kilbourne (D1, 4-6)
DSJ won 28-12

2005
Coldwater (15-0) at Dublin Jerome (D2, 6-5)
Coldwater won 28-3

2003
Coldwater (11-2) at Fort Wayne Elmhurst (IN) (D2, 3-7)
Coldwater won 60-7

2001
Delphos St. John's (9-3) at Conner (KY) (D2, 2-8)
DSJ won 35-6

Uh, after Marion Local put a beatdown on a pretty darned good CJ team in week 1, I can guarantee you there would be very few D3 or D4 schools who would be real interested in playing Marion Local. A win over a D6 isn't great for the Harbin points....and a loss throws you into the "oh but they lost to a D6 team" storyline that you know will last for quite a while

Just for laughs:

neutral field
[2017] Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, OH) 28, [2017] Marion Local (Maria Stein, OH) 21

I doubt it

Though with an asterisk. Northmont had failed a levy and cancelled their football season. After some athletes had transferred out, Northmont reinstated their program and put together a quick schedule.

I had a cousin in Northmont school at the time who said he made a nice pile of cash betting his classmates that Minster would beat Northmont.

as good an excuse as any I suppose.

The combined w/l records of teams DCJ defeated was 28 wins 41 losses.

so they weren't that darned good.

start scheduling Massillon: they'll take the game.

Massillon Washington is not even the best team in Massillon so why would they want to play them.... you do know that the game is not played on paper right?

Tim Goodwin has said in the past ML has tried to schedule about anyone including bigger schools with out luck except CJ. Flyers have an opening next year tell your AD's to call ML.

Wow, overreact much? Oh, and just completely disregard two D3 playoff wins lol. I said very few D3 and D4's....which I think would be true...I didn't say anything about 10 win D2's.

There is only one high school in Massillon that I know of.

I think Maria Stein would get killed.

Massillon fans would be singing "I just met a girl named Maria" (West Side Story)

Why do you think they would get killed? Maria Stein would likely loose but I think they would give a good showing.

And when ML defeats the paper tiger, Hillary will come to town to write a book about why Massillon lost.

I'm not an AD so I have no control over schedules. It was an easy hypothetical question however. I was asking for your opinion. Why not give it?
