I think it will be down. Nobody really wants to go to the armpit of Ohio.

Then there’s this tidbit of information that shocks me. This was a tweet by a former head football coach at Canton McKinley and I totally agree with him.
So Canton, OH will host the HS State Football Championship games in 7 Divisions this weekend, BUT there will be no on-site parking! The paying customers will park at the Fairgrounds about 11 blocks away and be bussed or walk to the 7 games over three days. Shame on you.

Since we would have a 3 1/2 hour car drive, then need to plan to lose another 1/2 hour to park and get on a bus to go to the stadium and the game I am interested in being at starts at 10:00AM. Our Van of 7 will not make the trip. I'm sure the Stadium is much improved, but hopefully it is not another 25 years before these games are moved back to Columbus.

How about having the State Championships at a stadium that actually has parking. However over all I think attendance will be about the same.

The only other thing you could do is that thereís a few streets close by where folks let you park on their front lawns for either 3-5 bucks (or who knows more) Thereís one street right across from the stadium on the west side where your walk would be less than a city block. I canít see the city telling folks they canít let folks park on their lawns. I know, I parked on someoneís yard this past year for 5 bucks.

A mother and father may pay the $30 and drive to see their only kid play in a state title. What about an extended family of 10-15 that want to go watch their kin play? Suddenly $110 for presale tickets is still a ton of money overall.

At some point, EVERYONE has a price where they won't attend. For you, it might be $100/ticket. For others, it might be $6/ticket. For some they wouldn't attend even if it's free.

So, yes, prices rising will adversely affect attendance.

D2 on Thursday is Winton Woods who never traveled that well in the past, and D3 features Trotwood-Madison who also never travels going up against an Ohio State game. In the past, it's been much smaller schools playing the night slot against the B1G game. Curious how D3 stacks up to it.

Actually yes. Tourism is the biggest industry in Bellville. I believe heroin is now number 1 in Stark County.

But why does it matter if attendance is low? Of course the price will effect attendance. So what? do you think they will stopping having the games if not enough people show up?

Sychotic said earlier this year that all the cheap blue seats would be broken by now. That did not happen so plenty pf seats will be available LOL

Great hyperbole on your part.

And I don't think there was ever a chance of a sellout for these games when even Massillon - McKinley doesn't sell even half the seats.

What was posted pre-season, it seemed the exact same as any NFL stadium utilizing the clear bag rule. I'm not sure if it's been altered for the state title games. But there's several times where NFL stadiums that mandate the clear bag rule give in for purses. And for Canton, I imagine they will have to since it's a shuttle ride back to your car if a woman brings a purse without knowing it's not allowed. I know AT&T Stadium follows NFL rules for their games but they've ALWAYS let in purses instead of sending people back to their cars.

That was the original plan and then the Canton games were pushed back. So, not 100% sure that's the current plan or if Columbus used their 2 future years already.

Any drop in revenue may change how they do things. Maybe stop renting out neutral sites. Maybe add even MORE playoff games to up their money intake. Cut downs on travel expenses by going to 'closest teams play' rather than the seeded #1 through #8.

Just because OHSAA has a sizable reserve doesn't mean they're apt to tap into it if there's no signs they'll ever replenish it.

Attendance will be better because more public schools (13 of 14) are in the finals and generally speaking they have larger fan bases than privates.

Look at the reported attendance numbers from the OHSAA for the past 10 years or so for football and basketball. The difference between privates and publics as far as attendance is negligible. Anyone believing otherwise are the ones living in a bubble because the actual numbers don't support the fallacy.

Attendance has been tanking for the last 15 years or so in both basketball and football. The public interest in high school sporting events is just not there anymore. It's not going to make a comeback and it has nothing to do with public or private schools.

I was going to be quite rude to you but then I realized Canton and Benson stadium would be better off without you tracking up our town and new stadium with your $hit covered cowboy boots.

How can someone be a former relative? Are they dead?

I assumed correctly everyone in Bellville was related.
