NBC---Northeastern Buckeye Conference

Thoughts on the upcoming season?
Frontrunners to win the league?
Best players?

Quick look....

Alliance with Sarrick Sampson and all those young athletes.
Louisville is loaded with shooters and young, hungry players.
Salem returns POY candidate Mitch Davidson and many other weapons.
WB has TJ Deshields, Reece Leone... Still young but big and physical
Canton South, led by Chris Fontes, but has lots of returners and talented youth.
Minerva has 4 year player Connor Wright
Marlington should be big and physical
Carrollton will be very young, losing a large group of seniors

Thinking that Sampson will have his way with most of the guys trying to guard him this year. That is provided the team around him is willing get him the ball in the post. Salem and WB will be solid teams from what I remember them having last year. Louisville will be young and athletic, but not sure they will have enough to really compete for the top of the league. I do think there is going to be many nights of close competitive games this year, but in the end Alliance might just have too much Sampson for everyone.

Quakers should be pretty good ---- Davidson, Ackerman, Johnson etc... if they play as a team they could make some noise. Sounds like several other teams have some solid players returning also.

Agreed, Salem will be loaded on offense. They will win a lot of games this year.

Proud of my Lions on a really gutty performance tonight at East Canton. Down by ten with a minute to go in regulation, force overtime and win it in OT 48-44. Smothering full court pressure and clutch free throw shooting down the stretch by Connor Wright. Really had to have this one with Alliance coming to town on Friday.

Northwest led every break and beat Canton South by a dozen or so.

McKinley 77 Louisville 63

Brandon Wahl led the Leopards with 19 points, 5-12 shooting behind the arc. Derek Zeller scored 16, with seven rebounds, and shot 4-6 behind arc. Louisville could not overcome 27 TO and Mckinley's relentless full court press. I think playing without Mathie really showed last night. Not saying Leps would have won the game but definitely would have cut those TO in half with his ball handling skills.

Minerva 65 Alliance 44. Sampson is a pure load for Alliance and Connor Wright drops a 30 spot for the Lions.

Nice way for Lions to kick off conference play by completely dominating defending champs with whbc in the house. Branch up next.

Heck of a win for the Lions. That may be a very early indication for POY.
