They rebounded much better in the 2nd half, but turnovers killed them. I think they had 8-9 turnovers in the 1st 10 minutes of the 2nd half. They had their chances. They will only get better, not sure what a reasonable expectation is for this season. At this point, I'd say 2nd weekend of the tournament would be great.

Can't argue that. Great college player, but a pretty unlikeable person.

I potentially see Richards, Diallo, and Knox leaving. All at this moment have a first round grade.

Pretty clear he wants to develop guys like DeLaurier, O'Connell, and Goldwire who will be around 3-4 yrs. Smart. No matter how many great One and Dones he pulls in, every championship team needs some kind of leadership from their upperclassmen. The only exception to that rule is the last UK team that won it all with Anthony Davis.

Who gives a damn about 13 straight B12 titles when you can't get to the FF with loaded teams?
Overrated? I have a hard time calling somebody overrated when they've won their conference (regular season and/or tournament) 18 of the last 20 years. He's one of the best long-term program coaches in the country. It's not like the Big 12 is a chump league either when you have to go on the road to places like Iowa State and West Virginia.

It seems like he disappoints often in the tournament, but they've been to the Elite 8 or further 7 times in the last 14 years. Even for having a ton of talent that's pretty solid given the crapshoot nature of a single elimination tournament where you have short prep time for unfamiliar opponents.

That UK team had terrific senior leadership from Darius Miller. They also had a couple really good sophomores who had a year experience in Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb.

WV just joined a few yrs ago. Aside from that, the B12 is nothing. Occasionally, OK has a good team, but aside from them? Nothing. Plus, to get the the elite 8 7/14 yrs and win one title? Seems like a choke artist to me. When's the last time they weren't knocked out by a lower seed? They pull this crap every year and people just ignore it bc if how good they are in the Reg Season.

I think 13-14 straight Big 12 championships speaks more about the league than it does Bill Self and Kansas. It's like the AFC East in the NFL. Yes, New England is good as is Kansas, but no other team can put it together to knock them off at least 1 year?

Unfortunately, college basktball has turned into a giant AAU field. The best high schoolers in the country ban together to go to Kansas/ Kentucky/ Duke / North Carolina. Their ability to get their freshmen to play together largely is the difference between them winning the NCAA tournament. Most of the other programs have to rely on getting 2-3 star talent, and coaching them up so when they are juniors or seniors, they have a chance to win. Teams like Wisconsin, Villanova and South Carolina have had recent success having older teams that can sometimes play together and play above the one and done Kentucky programs.

Are you going to try and say Villanova, South Carolina, and Wisconsin only get 2-3 star talent? I remember you tried to say that about South Carolina last year and Google made you Poole dumb yet again

Nova has a pretty highly ranked Frosh this year. It's a dumb system, but in order to win, you need top shelf, one and done talent. The last 2 years, the Frosh talent pool has been a little down, which lets veteran laden teams like Scar, or Nova advance. Even UNC had a lot of upperclassmen leading their team.

Texas A&M is on ESPN2 right now. They are worth a watch. NBA talent on that team, they are underrated at #16.

I enjoy watching well coached Juniors and Seniors who have developed some chemistry playing against the one and dones.

I think we're going to see the Juniors and Seniors in the "chemistry" programs increasingly win some tournament games in the next couple years.

It took a few years for coaches to fully understand that formula, but I think they have it.

Yup, and he said similar things about Oregon and Gonzaga, which again turned out to be wrong. He sometimes forgets that Google does in fact exist and is unable to pull poo from his bum without getting called out on it.

I'd be ok with that as long as kids choosing to go to school stay at least 2 years. Maybe to avoid a complete talent drain, they could allow NBA teams to draft the "rights" to a Freshman before he finishes his college career. Wasn't there a similar system in place 30-40 years ago? Downside, I imagine NBA PA would have a fit over that.

Duke with an awesome comeback playing 5 Frosh in OT. They looked the first 1.5 half of the game, but Bagley took over.

Not that I think Vandy is particularly good, but UVA held them to 8 FGs through 32 minutes of game time yesterday. Against any major conference team that's pretty damn impressive IMO.

UVA looking good... Also think Nevada is a potential elite 8 team.. WTF is going on with Arizona? WKU also looking pretty good prolly top 20 team if that top #10 recruit doesn't transfer.

With 10 minutes left in the game, Alabama was playing with 3 players against Minnesota, they actually outscored the Gophers for the remainder of the game; still lost.
Bench got ejected for coming onto the court, 1 player fouled out, one player sprained his ankle; leaving 3 to play.

Another big comeback win for Duke. This young team grew up a ton this weekend. Bagley is a monster, should be in the lead for POY.

UVA with another defensive clinic holding Wisconsin to 37. It's scary how good they are in the defensive half-court for this point in the season.
