Genoa and Eastwood will be 1/2.

Elmwood, Rossford, Otsego all battle it out for 3, 4, and 5.

Woodmore, Lake, and Fostoria get beat up on by the 5 top schools and get conference wins from playing each other only.

Will Boos (Eastwood) and Plantz (Genoa) be back off of leg injuries?

With Genoa maybe losing Bench, it will open up the league.

What is wrong with Bench? If he and Plantz cannot play then Genoa goes from a favorite to also ran.

Boos won't be back until February. Plantz I heard was going to be ready in December. As for Bench, I know he got into some trouble and had to miss last weeks and this weeks football game. Not sure what is going for basketball with him.

Lake could potentially surprise some people. They lost a ton of their production from a below average team but the return of Ahmad Smith from Rogers could get them a few extra wins

NBC "could" have some teams with worse records than last year, who get high seeds in the tournament, because they get healthy at the end of the season.

Rossford struggled vs Clay in a scrimmage. They will have some growing pains for the next few years.

I heard some talk about them having a Freshman point guard over at Rossford who was supposed to be an impact player. Did you get a look at him?

I wasn't at the scrimmage, but was told Clay won by 30+.

Don't know any details of the scrimmage or the Rossford PG, but Clay's PG is a nice player and would give anyone fits one on one. Strong, shifty kid.

Thanks CP.

I also think Genoa is the class of this league. If they are intact and healthy, they have to be a contender to get out of the region in D3, though Archbold and Stritch should be there too.

Don't know enough about Eastwood's roster, but they are a pretty small enrollment and assuming they make a deep football run, they may take some time to round into form as the season progresses and the football guys transition in. Maybe someone more familiar with them can confirm.

I think Eastwood only lost one contributor to graduation. Their big question mark is the health of their top player, Boos, who had a pretty bad football injury.

The D3 region is as deep and brutal as I can remember it. Upper Sandusky and Ottawa Glandorf both moved down from D2. Upper went 25-1, was ranked #1 in D2 last year and Ottawa Glandorf was 21-4 with multiple 6'4"-6-6" 210+ strong/athletic kids returning.

Wow. Every time basketball season starts I feel like a kid at Christmas. I can't wait to see how this all shakes out.

CP, do you have a link to this years designations? I'm working off last year.

Plus with archbold returning all their starters from last year... D3 Northwest will be as tough as it gets

Funny. Watch what you wish for.

Davy1 is great for the who beat who. Not sure how it works, but they seem to update scores the same night or next day. I can't imagine it is a manual process.

Davey1 is a manual process (if you mean entering it in manually - smile).

We also have all the boys' schedules in NW Ohio and 98% (so far - smile) of NW Ohio Girls' schedules.

We try to get all the scores entered each evening; however, some don't report them.

Last I heard after talking to some people was "early November"... obviously that is not the case. I would assume by next Wednesday they will be released.

Brutal. Five of those teams have all or most of their teams back from last year and several will be Jr and soph dominated this year.

Will Plantz and Bench play vs Wauseon Dec. 5th? That could be a great game if Genoa is full strength.

Blade - Coaches Picks;

1. Eastwood
2. Genoa
3. Otsego
4. Rossford
5. Elmwood
6. Fostoria
7. Lake
8. Woodmore

I would flip Lake and Rossford. Ahmad Smith is a nice addition and Rossford didn't look very good vs Clay.

I was surprised by how close Rossford played with Northview in their 46-42 loss. Then again, Vorst coached teams are always well prepared.

Rough start for the NBC, but I expect that will turn around.

Elmwood 43 North Baltamore 54
Fostoria 31 Cardinal Stritch 77
Genoa 50 Oak harbor 51
Lake 79 Northwood 55
Lake 51 Toledo Christian 56
Rossford 42 Northview 46
Woodmore 65 Oak Harbor 42

2-5 as a league.

Those results vs Oak Harbor are mind boggling.

N'View must of shot under 20% from the arc and at times missed 2-3 from the arc on one possession. Rossford played hard, not sure they have the horses this year and N'View looked surprisingly average.
