Really looking forward to the game with my Brush Arcs this year. Hopefully they are up to the task against a proven program like St. Edward. Should be a good year for NEO hoops.

How many regular season games are permitted? 22? If so, by my count, Eagle Fan you have 23 dates listed. If 22 regular season games is the max permitted, perhaps there is no game for "Fri 2/16".

Another factor is that we are not guaranteed 4 games at the Holiday Tournament. Last year we played 3. So there might be a little flex in there.

Hopefully, it’s not a sign of a repeat to the season similiar to when the eagles lost Alex Sterba and Delvon Roe back in 08 or 09.

Eagles off to a a solid 3-0 start. 51-38 over Lakewood, 78-58 over Beachwood, and 81-52 over Cornerstone Christian. Padua, John Marshall, and Brush on the slate before heading out to San Diego for the Torrey Pines Holiday Classic. Here is the "National" bracket: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e...bztdEETh7I/pub.

Not sure if either Terry or Huffman are expected back by then. Terry is recovering from an off-season jaw injury, but I believe has been practicing in some capacity while he awaits clearance. Haven't heard anything on Huffman yet other than he was getting x-rays for an ankle injury.

Terry might be available by the Torrey Pines tourney, if not sooner. But, I think Huffman broke his ankle and will be out until sometime after the new year.

N2 loser only gets 1 game? How do you justify the travel expense for 1 game?

It's deceiving because a few games get bounced to another gym. In St. John's case if they lose N2 they play at Cathedral Catholic (which is the primary site for the "Senators" division. Win or lose that one, they are back at Torrey Pines for their 3rd game.

Just confusing how they listed games by school site, so when a few from one bracket are played at another site, it is convoluted.

Whole picture for "National" Division would need to include:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/e...xCydH6u0Sn/pub

and

https://docs.google.com/document/d/e...iWMxEI24-1/pub

A very nice win last night by the Eagles over a talented Brush squad. Demitrius Terry made his season debut with 18 points off the bench. This kid has two speeds, fast and omg fast. He makes a lot of things happen on the floor. The team is jelling nicely. The San Diego trip will be a good test as well as the first weekend in January. Hugley for Brush only a sophomore will be something to see in the future. Chet Mason has a good squad despite the 93-77 setback. The Eagles stepped up their game last night against good competition.

Torrey Pines bracket: https://docs.google.com/presentation...00&slide=id.p3

First opponent is College Park High School (The Woodlands, TX). Public school just outside of Houston. Compete in 6A, Texas' largest classification. Maxpreps has them at 8-8 so far this season. Here is the listed roster:

0 Max Bowman F Sr. 6-6 190
1 Justin Antwi G Sr. 5-8 145
3 Braden Kupfer G Sr. 5-8 145
4 Kimani Anderson F Sr. 6-1 165
5 Quentin Grimes G Sr. 6-5 210
10 Trey Grigsby G Sr. 6-0 165
12 Deon Blakemore G Sr. 6-0 160
13 Cameron Noel G Jr. 5-10 150
22 Seren Collins F Sr. 6-3 180
23 Shannon Scott G Sr. 6-1 180
24 Bobby Zane G Sr. 6-1 160

Top guy is Quentin Grimes, a 5-star combo guard currently committed to Kansas.

Eagles take the opener 77-64 over College Park (TX) and were paced by PJ Flannery's 15 points. Three others in double figures, Chambers and Blanton with 14 and Foster with 13. College Park was pretty much a one man show with Kansas commit Quentin Grimes scoring 44 points.

Next game will be tomorrow night against the Fairfax (CA)/ St. Augustine (CA) winner.

I liked their pace and defense this afternoon. Let down a few times as half and quarter ended. They must have had five rim and outs. Score should have been worse. Love seeing all the Eagles fans there. PJ Flannery has filled out with a decent outside shot. This team is really deep. Coach can run at least 8-9 kids out there and wear most teams down.

Looks like they will play Fairfax, a Los Angeles public school. Maxpreps has Fairfax 9-2, and they have been primarily playing in tournaments. They won the Beverly Hills Tournament in early December and finished 3rd in Iolani Classic in Hawaii last week.

If you believe the MaxPreps national ranking, they are 32nd, with losses to #20 and #3.

Fairfax will be our toughest opponent to date. 5th ranked team in the LA times high school poll. Only two losses are to Bishop O'Dowd (CA) (which they avenged recently) and national powerhouse Montverde Academy (FL) (which they lost 79-70). Here is their roster:

2 Mekhi Kimble G Sr. 6-1
4 Ronald Mitchell G Jr. 6-2
5 Millard Hill G Sr. 5-8
10 Jamal Hartwell G Sr. 6-0
14 Justyn Hunter G So. 6-0
15 Daylen Williams F Jr. 6-5
20 Ethan Anderson G Jr. 6-1
23 Shawn Booker F Sr. 6-3
25 Robert McRae G, F Jr. 6-4
32 Mikolaj Karczewski F, C Sr. 6-6
33 Kirk Smith C, F Sr. 6-8

Big Win

Looked bad for most of the game. Fairfax was a good team and had the Eagles down most of the way. Real grit to hang with them and out play them at the end. Many off shots by Fairfax at the end because I believe their legs were dead. Edís rotates what seems like 10 guys so fresh at the end. Very impressive win.

I'd bet not the "expected" result for tournament directors.

Next up, Archbishop Stepinac from White Plains NY. MaxPreps has them at 4-2 and no national rank shown. Game time 11:35PM Eastern tonight.

The other semi-final features #229 Mission Bay (11-2) , located just 13 miles south and #697 Bishop O'Connell (8-2) of Arlington VA.

Archbishop Stepinac is an all-boys Catholic school out of White Plains, NY with an enrollment of around 700. They compete in the AAA classification in NY's Catholic High School Division and their football team was state champs this year. Here is their roster:

0 Alan Griffin G Sr. 6-5
1 Kyle Atkins G Sr. 6-0
2 Eduard Minaya G Jr. 6-0
3 Ed Sanchez G Jr. 6-3
4 RJ Davis G So. 5-11
5 Dylan Frost F Sr. 6-5
10 Sunil Fong F Jr. 6-5
11 Joel Soriano C Jr. 6-11
13 Xavier Wilson F Sr. 6-7
14 Matthew Brand G So. 5-11
15 James Prince F Jr. 6-4
21 AJ Griffin G Fr. 6-4
23 Noah Small G Jr. 6-1

Several guys with mid-major D1 offers. Some very good guards in Alan Griffin, RJ Davis, and Eduard Minaya.

Semi-Final

I will be there tonight. The tournament directors, who I have spoken to one of them say they know what Flannery brings with his teams. Itís no surprise that each year they beat a more highly ranked team in this tournament. I have watched it personally. The Torrey Pines coach who runs the tournament coaches with Flannery at USA basketball. He knows that Edís brings defense and fundamentals that other teams donít gring, especially late game. On another note, Demetrius Terry had two Technicals last night. UNACCEPTABLE!

Does anyone know if Steve Logan Jr is the son of Steve Logan from class of 98?

He was a machine in high school and for UC. Second in scoring behind the Big “O”.
