"LiAngelo Ball Leaves U.C.L.A. Without Having Played a Game"

The family is a lightning rod for controversy.

Lonzo saved Alford's career. Alford is forever indebted to the Ball family.

Until I read the article I didn't know UCLA was below 500 the year before Lonzo. But you gotta think he's breathing a little easier with the middle ball leaving and probably baby ball not coming. Now daddy ball is just some AAU refs headache..

I feel bad for the kids. I thought Lavar's persona was an act before this move. He's going to ruin his two youngest son's chances at playing in college and the Pros. No decent program would touch LiMelo.

The youngest allegedly just signed with an agent so the Ball show is done at UCLA if this news is true

If he makes a dime playing basketball, it doesn't matter.

Hilarious. I’d bet neither of these two make it to the NBA.

I think LaMelo will get a shot with an NBA team however he definitely will not increase his stock by going overseas.

I'm sure Alford would trade anything he's gained from having anything to do with the Ball family for the last 18 months of torchure he's had to endure.

Lonzo was the cream of the crop, and he'll be out of the league in a few years.

Torchure lol

Well Lonzo gave him his best year and probably bought him another year or two before they realize he isn't that good of a coach.

I am not a fan of him but he will remain in the league for awhile barring injury. So you think after his rookie contract he won't have a spot on a roster? I'd wager on it and give you any odds you want. He is a role player at his worst imo

LiMelo is the most selfish player, I've ever seen. There's no way his game will translate at any level

LiAngelo and Lamelo are probably going to end up playing in China together in a couple years. LiAngelo seemed like a fringe pro prospect at best. For all of the hype, LaMelo is a high volume chucker that has a playing style and physique that don't translate to high-level college basketball, let alone the NBA.

Lol somehow I'd already forgotten that. Point being, the kid seems like a pro on a mid-level at best overseas team. I don't think he's ever going to be good enough to play on a higher-end European team.

IMO, Lavar has really screwed his youngest two sons with his premature decision to make them "pros". Neither have real NBA prospects, and ultimately add nothing of value to his Big Baller Brand. Lonzo needs to separate himself from the family clown circus as quickly as possible.

I agree that LiAngelo likely won't be an NBA-caliber professional but if he really establishes himself overseas, it should help the BB brand grow internationally.

I disagree about LaMelo however. He's grown to 6'4 and while he won't be as explosive of an athlete as Lonzo, he has a high ceiling as a playmaker. Considering where he's at only 16, I'd say he's on track to become a 1st round NBA draft pick in several years.

From everything I've seen, LaMelo doesn't even come remotely close to making plays for others in the style of Lonzo. He plays like a high volume 1-on-1 guy, which is an issue because he's not an explosive athlete by pro standards. He's grown a lot, but he's still built like a twig. I'm just not seeing it.

The dude from Pickerington (Francis) that's going to UNC is a vastly superior PG recruit and pro prospect, and he's always been rated 30-40 spots lower on the recruiting sites. LaMelo gets hype because of Lonzo and due to Chino Hills scoring like crazy due to their tempo and high-risk defensive style. He's just a big name, and he'll get exposed badly if his agent actually gets him a deal with a mid-level or better European club.
