Is he as involved with the football program at Wazzu as JJ is at Arkansas?

Kiffin to Arkansas is the latest. Taggert is a done deal to FSU. Mel Tucker seems to be the front runner at Tennessee.

Probably not, but he's donated millions of dollars to Washington State, and I'm sure he'd donate to the football program if he was asked. If you're willing to donate $3 million to some frat boys, I'm sure you're willing to donate that kind of money to the football program.

Also, Norvell just signed an extension with Memphis, so he isn't going to Arkansas.

According to some of my Tennessee friends they will be unstoppable with Tucker and Tee Martin as OC.

Of course they are also proud of not getting Schiano because nobody good has ever coached at OSU. No, they don't know much about Tucker. lol

Those same people thought hiring Jason Witten would be a good idea. I'll never understand how people can be diehard fans, but know so little about the game.

You might want to let them know about this.

Also, be sure to let your Tennessee friends know we're still pissed off about John Cooper, who was born and raised near Knoxville. So, we don't want anyone else from Tennessee either.

After completely boggling this entire process, Tenn somehow comes out with a solid hire, IMO.

When or if does this start to take its toll on Bama?
They've lost Smart and Pruitt on the defensive side. They lost Kiffin last year and then Sark after one game.

No idea. Normally there's a higher turnover rate for successful coordinators. Pruitt wasn't there for long but Smart was there for quite awhile, I believe. Saban hasn't really had many chances to make a bad hire. And his offense, until last year, has always been game manager QB, run behind a monster line.

Herm Edwards is still in Bristol, he's on NFL Live right now. What the hell? Why is he not out at Arizona State recruiting or putting a staff together? This hire is going to be a disaster.

I can't see him lasting longer than 2 years. This isn't the NFL where you can just delegate to your assistants. You need to be hands on and micromanage every detail.

People erroneously believe being a HC in the NFL is more difficult than in College. It's not, they both require diff't areas of focus. In the NFL, guys watch ungodly amounts of film and spend the bulk of their time in Xs and O's. In college, it's all about recruiting and player development. Bellichick would fail miserably as a College coach, bc no kid could handle playing under him.

Kevin Steele was DC for 2007 then Nick promoted Smart to co-DC in 2008 until the end of the 2015 season.

Right, I've never seen it before. Have no idea how ASU is letting him stay in Bristol

Only thing I can think of its that Herm has a contractual obligation to stay at ESPN until the end of the year or something, which if that's the case he should have never been hired anyway. Meanwhile Chip Kelly has been at UCLA for two weeks already
