Week 7: Massilon Jackson (4-2) at Canton McKinley (6-0)

What are your opinions on this game? I see McKinley winning, they beat Hoover. Hoover beat Perry. Perry beat Jackson. I know you can’t judge based off which teams beat who due to different match ups but I still see McKinley winning this one.

Raymo, On Joeeitel.com, the Pups still retain the number One spot in Div1/Reg1, and Jackson is in the number 8 slot. On the Drew Pasteur website, the Pups are favored by 14 points.

I look forward to making the drive from Cleveland to Fawcett to see this game. Go Pups! Good luck to all, sam McK'68

I just wanted to compliment McK Coach Reardon on the Pup's last game. Two plays in particular stood out for me.

The first play was going for the 1st down on 4th and ten while in punt formation. The punter (his son) threw the ball for the successful conversion. The second play(s) was in "managing the clock" near the end of the first half. With time running down, McK called time outs to give them a chance for one last drive before the half. It worked as the Pups got ball possession, and scored.

Good job coach! Good luck to all. Go Pups! sam McK'68

McKinley is going to score on everybody. Dynamic offensive talent. They can give up points and yards though. Jackson is capable of scoring but I don't think they have enough firepower to go 48 minutes.

McKinley 42
Jackson 27

I just can't see Jackson being able to contain the Bulldogs. McKinley wins this one.

One of these weeks the Pups will beat themselves with all the unforced errors and stupid penalties. Why not this week? Could happen.

I'd be OK if they waited until week 10 for that. LOL.

Pups will get embarrassed if they have as many penalties against Massillon as they did against Lake.

At the moment, matters not....it's week #7 and McKinley is playing Jackson. They need to reduce the number of penalties to beat Jackson.

McKinley should have been flagged on the fake punt...when he threw the ball Mckinley's center and right guard were 15 yards beyond the line of scrimmage....they should have been penalized for ineligible man downfield

Thanks for sharing... But, do you really think that game was decided on ONE play?... Good luck to Lake going forward... Your team played well... It is now time for McK fans to talk about our next opponent, Jackson... Good luck to all... Go Pups!... sam McK'68

Thanks for your observation... AND, my opinion is that the Pups will clean up their act as we get into the "Heart" of our schedule... we have Jackson (4-2), Perry (5-1), and THE TIGERS (6-0) coming up... you should now see a marked improvement as we go forward... Good luck to all... GO Pups!... sam McK'68

1. This is the McK - Jackson thread.
2. There's a thread for the McK whipping of Lake - try there.
3. Maybe just take the beating, say "Good game" and move on.

Jackson certainly has a shot to upset McK. In the Perry game, Jackson beat themselves. They marched down the field the whole game but had some deadly turnovers. I see this game as closer than logic tells us. I think McK should win, but Jackson is certainly capable of the upset.

Tell us about Jackson..What do they like to do? Are they strong/good at the LOS? How is there passing and running game? Etc. etc.

Do they have alot of speed? How are they on defense? Give us the run down on there team please.

Thank you

They’re balanced. They can throw and they can run. They are physical. They’re not fast all over the field but they have some speedsters in the ranks.

I don’t think Jackson stands a chance. One they pass to that jake Ryan a lot so if you shut him down then you shut down Jackson offense. McKinley by 3TD’s

I remember watching the east game on 989, from what I remember East had dudes running past Jackson all night, they just couldn't connect, and I'm talking wideeeeee open. They looked tough up front, but I don't think they have anyone that can handle Woody, Ross, Garrett, or Curtis. I like the bulldogs by 3 touchdowns.

Someone usually posts the last 10 meetings, just curious. I know McKinley obviously won most but not sure if all, or how competitive the games have been.

In any case the 14 pt. spread seems about right.

I mean it’s pretty simple... if you want to complain about the game, you could go to the McKinley vs. Lake thread, or go talk about the Hoover vs. Lake game rather than trying to start an argument when the game was five days ago.

Jackson's Big Front vs McKinley's speed on the edge and in the air

the game will tell us who capitalizes on their strength and which team can neutralize the strength of the other.
