Let me guess, there's Walnut Hills followed by a bunch of rich suburban schools.

Are private schools included in this ranking? If they are I find it strange they were none on the list.

Pubs only.

They lost credibility for me when Steubenville made the list and Shaker Heights didn't.

Privates don't go through the report card process.

I thought Hudson and Minster would have ranked a little higher.

Also surprising to see a big disparity between Turpin and Anderson. I guess Turpin probably got better scores after I left and my delinquent posse

Never. Just read Massillon football posts for the humor. Massillon remarks about Jackson is how big the band is, how soft the parents are, how soft the kids are, and how they are wealthier. But I guess two of sh1t is still sh1t

I'm only surprised WH isn't #1. The rest is no shock, guessing the Median income in those districts is around $250 K+

Kudos to Toledo (and Akron) Early College High School, Toledo Public system, set in the urban environment. This one would go against the economic indicators but I believe these "rankings" also favor high average over top performers. I would expect higher SATs coming from other schools.

Most of the Indian Hill students do not live in Indian Hill; and they do have some section 8 housing and low income areas in the district.
They shouldn't have broken up the Madeira-Indian Hill school district many years ago.

Lmaooo @ Indian Hill SD having a "significant" low income population.

Indian Hill Elementary: 6.0% free/reduced lunch
Madeira Elementary: 9.1% free/reduced lunch
Mariemont Elementary: 12.8% free/reduced lunch

I used to date a "poor" girl from Kenwood in high school and she still lived in a $300k house with parents who drove luxury cars.

I donít know about ďmostĒ, but i am aware the IH school district encompasses more than Indian Hill. Iím willing to bet the % of section 8 housing is probably the lowest of the public schools. In any event, my point was itís widely considered one of the top 3 public schools in the state.

Private schools would dominate this list if included. They would need to add some competitive balance to level the playing field. Most private schools have much, much higher college preparedness rates and the percentage of their students obtaining a college degrees within six years of graduating from high school dwarfs most of these public schools. I am all for private schools getting a report card rating but I don't think the ODE would be all that happy with the results. I have looked at the report cards and the only thing that matters to me is the "prepared for success" section which includes the percentage of students who even attempt the ACT, the percentage of those that would have to take remedial classes in college and the percentage of students graduating from college within six years from high school. The numbers for a lot of these schools are less than impressive and some are horrible. The vast majority of private schools crush these percentages.

Steubenville for example only had 53.8% of its students even take the ACT, of those a whopping 87.6% would have to take remedial classes in college, and only 24.7% of their students obtain a college degree within six years from high school graduation. Those numbers are awful. Steubenville Catholic Central destroys those percentages.

I am grateful the ODE now post this information on the report cards since they are government schools paid for by taxpayers and the taxpayers should have easy access to this data.

So you think private schools are more successful because they are private?

I don't know about across the state, but in Dayton, the privates such as Carroll, Alter, CJ, Dayton Christian etc, are not better than Centerville, Springboro, Bellbrook, Oakwood, Beavercreek etc.

Because you are private means nothing.

The floor for privates is much higher than the floor for publics. That's the difference.
