ASM Sports Agency got raided. They have a long list of NBA players represented by them. They took Andy Miller's computer. I am guessing other schools will be exposed for payments

According to Rick's lawyer it would be "fairly reckless of the university" to fire Rick. Guess Rick isn't going down without a fight

Rick, it is called lack of institutional control. Louisville is on probation, this is a possible 'Death Penalty" infraction for them. 2 of his assistant coaches colluded with a Adidas agent to pay a recruit to come to Louisville, the FBI has them on a wiretap.

His reasoning for how he got the recruit was amazing.

Also there is a cooperating witness

clarkgriswold will become famous soon enough
There are soooooo many more people going down in this one. This is just the tip of the iceberg as those charged are going to squeal like stuck little pigs on all of the other scum in their cadre of corruption.

You cheaters. Ohio State getting stuff from drug dealers, Louisville getting hookers, North Carolina giving athletes A's for fake classes, and Kentucky basketball and Alabama football running an honest program

So? You think the Fed is limiting itself to fraud and bribery in the year 2015 and Adidas?

I'm having trouble understanding why any of this is a violation of federal law.

A lot of people struggle to understand federal law, don't worry you aren't alone.

Well the Twitter campaign set forth by Jurich/Pitino is gold. They are trying to get people to tweet the governor, Matt Bevin, to step in to keep Jurich's job. Says it needs to be tweeted by 8 am today. They even have Ali's widow drumming up support.

Interim President will want to leave his mark.

I want to know if they will uncover the millions gone from the U of L foundation. The school itself is in dire straits

The colleges receive federal money. Gives the feds jurisdiction.

That and defrauding the government. From the complaint:

Quote:
"In addition, Chuck Connors Person, arranged for Witness to make payments directly to the families of the players Person was steering to Witness. These payments defrauded University by depriving it of the financial aid University continued to award to the relevant student athletes under false pretenses."

Primarily tax evasion. A bribe/gift/perk is income and you are liable for the taxes to be paid, that is how the Feds gets a lot of criminals not the actual dirty deed. The problem is because of NCAA rules a front at a cement or garbage company to funnel $s through is not really doable. My guess is that there is someone politically that wants to see the NCAA athletic model changed and they pushed the FBI to this investigation. As called out there are those that will flip on a dime as the amount of $s they received is not good enough for the potential time in prison. Also, Adidas doesn't have a slush fund for hazard pay to keep these folks quiet and have them take the years.

Hopefully this will be the end of the sham amateur facet of the NCAA sports model. Compensate these workers for their true value and there is no need for under the table payments.

Apparently Pitino can't be fired unless he is given 10 days notice to appeal/present evidence.
