I was told Akron gave him a lousy offer. He never considered Akron. I don't think his athletic play fits into Dambrot's style. The Akron fans are quite upset the Zips let Graves get away. Check out the ongoing thread on zipsnation.org

His final three schools were Buffalo, Fordham, and Toledo. He should do very well at BUffalo.

Here's what I heard my man. Graves wanted his visit to Akron to be unofficial. and Akron balked.

There is also supposedly some bad blood between Dambrot and my man Dru. But that kid Graves can ball. Buffalo got a steal.

Perfect example that regular season games mean NOTHING. That game absolutely helped the Irish in the rematch. Irish are playing well right now.

I've been a fan of Trotwood, the team and the fans, since our teams met in the State title game in 2014. Always impressed by the passion of Ram Nation. Great game yesterday afternoon! I just wish it had been the finals! Good luck to you and your team next year. Go Irish! One more quality opponent... one more solid effort to go!

I get what you are saying, but I tend to disagree. If not for the challenges of the regular season, and all those close games, STVM would have been much more ill-prepared for the final minutes of yesterday's game. I also think the emphasis on the blowout loss in January is a little overdone. I remember in 2013, the Irish football team got their collective heads handed to, once again, by Mooney. They could have let that game hang like a dark cloud over them for the rest of the season, but instead they used it as fuel to help drive them to a state title run. Sometimes a loss, even a bad loss, can be a good thing! If you read the Beacon Journal article about the team before the game, you could hear the same mentality being espoused by Graves and Williams, the senior leaders. They used that loss, the embarrassment and sting of that blowout, as motivation for the team to rededicate themselves for the rest of the season. The Irish team the Rams played yesterday was light years ahead of the team they faced in January. And to me, in order for the Irish to prevail yesterday, it is little surprise that it took a William's' steal and a Graves' bucket to get it done! Good luck in the finals Irish!

Irish60 - you misunderstood my post. The score does not matter, the challenge does. I'm sure a team and program like SVSM could not wait to play a team again that 40 balled them. That is why teams like ours and yours play the schedule we do. Sure you want to win every game but sometimes the lessons you learn are invaluable. Good Luck Saturday.

You are funny!!! No State Championships in football or basketball for the great teams at Northmont. Wait tell me how far has Northmont gotten in football or basketball? Keep buying tickets to watch other teams from the GWOC play in state championships.

You might have brian1227 confused with someone else. He's a Nordonia fan, not a Northmont fan.
