I see Ross lost at the Purple Pit to Clay. Maybe one more win this year..... against Tiffin?

I noticed Overton didn't play vs St. Francis. Is he injured?

SJ beat CCHS by 20 last night with Smith contributing 18. Look out.

I watched CCHS take it to Findlay last night. Man when they are tuned in the Irish can be dangerous. It will be very interesting to see what happens come tourney time. At the beginning of the season I thought it was SF & Whitmer all the way but SJ & CCHS could be very tough outs (not forgetting Lima Sr.).

Is Northview actually good or is it another case of NLL goes undefeated in order to get stomped by TRAC in tournament?

My guess is the latter - they beat Napoleon by 2 at home who is horrible this year and Bryan by 2. An undefeated season is nice - give them that - BUTT?? I suppose anything is possible but if I were betting my money!

Toledo splits 21 teams into 2 districts.

I can see Northview getting a top 2 or 3 seed based on record, but think they are more like the 5th best team in the district, with 3 or 4 teams behind them having a chance to knock them off. I don't see them getting beyond the district semi final if they play any of the 4 teams I list above them.

Here is how I would rank the 21 teams going into the 2 Toledo Districts.

1. Lima Sr. 12-2 Beat Whitmer head to head
2. Whitmer 12-1
3. Winner of tonight's St. Francis 13-3 vs Start 11-2 game
4. Loser of above
5. Northview 16-0 record says they should be higher, but too many tight games vs very average teams
6. St. Johns 9-6 They are a new team 8-1 in last 9 games
7. Central 10-6 Lost 4 games by 3 points or less to good teams
8. Findlay Beat Lima Sr and Ottawa Glandorf, back to back but have lost 3 in a row
9. Ashland 10-5 beat Perrysburg pretty easily
10. Perrysburg 9-4 beat Anthony Wayne pretty easily
11. Anthony Wayne 9-5 Beat Lima Sr, but lost to some smaller schools (Genoa, Evergreen, Wauseon), not playing very well right now
12. Rogers 6-9 results don't warrant being here but their talent is scary if they could get focused and play with some discipline. Plus they were missing a couple guys the last 2 games
13 Springfield 6-7 beat Southview head to head
14 Southview 6-7 I like King and Horn over Bowsher's guards
15 Bowsher 6-9 They are 0-3 vs NLL
16 Bowling Green 6-9 only win vs a decent team is against Springfield by 1
17 Clay 3-12 Beat Fremont
18 Fremont 2-12 Lost to Clay
19 Madison 4-14 Don't play as strong of a schedule as Clay and Fremont and getting beat up pretty bad
20 Woodward 5-10 Took a last second shot to beat Northwood
21 Waite 1-13 Having a down year

I still may put Madison Rams ahead of TRAC bottom dwellers. Despite being smaller schools, Richland County area has solid teams. Speaking of which, still weird to me Mansfield Senior is no longer in this District.

Perrysburg put a scare into Whitmer. Fouled on a 3 pointer with .003 left and a chance to tie.

On the broadcast they said they were missing multiple players with the flu vs Ashland.

St. Francis @ Whitmer - St. Francis is over due to win a big game. Will they play to their potential?

Lima Sr. @ St. Johns - St. Johns has a chance to show they are for real with a full roster. Will home court push them over the top?

No, just the recent good play after the addition of Smith and the 8-1 record going back a little further.

The other games they won with him, were vs teams equal or below them in the standings. Just think it will be interesting to see if they can knock off a team near the top now that they are at full strength....... i.e. Lima Sr., Whitmer, St. Francis.

So they were already at full roster. I thought they were just playing better, you know, coaching. I thought someone said there was a recruit from Rogers, this him? Why is he just playing now and who is sitting?

Hope the public school kid survives those "tough" private school academics.

I think Smith (Rogers) has played 3 games. He transferred before the rule change, so he sat out the 1st half of the season instead of the 2nd half and the tournament.

During the Central game it looked like the Greek football player was getting less time.

Lol.

Mitsopulous is a heck of an athlete. It will be interesting to see where he winds up on the gridiron at the next level.

Lima Senior no energy tonight, got blown out up at St. John's. Turnovers and lack of offense. Have to shake it off, still a bunch ball left..

?
They're "eh" all season. A new recruit starts playing and they begin to show 10-15 more points competance and that's "coaching?" Ok, I suppose it depends upon a person's definition of that word. Though your evaluation was relative so I suppose I could see that.

I think it's a fairly balanced team. If, as I said at the beginning of season they can show that old school defense, they have a shot. But I don't think anyone would pat themselves on the back for doing better because they add a better player.

East,

I take it you are NOT a fan of the private schools? Haha.

I would like to see what Heintschel would have done as a coach had he only been able to coach the "school district" kids instead of an All-Star team. But you have to give him credit...he gets them to show up at St. John's and gets them to play together for the most part.

Of course one could argue with open enrollment there are not a lot of "school district" kids anymore.

Exactly. Look at what is happening on Bancroft the past few weeks to see getting talented guys to play well together ain't that easy.
