PAC 2018 Baseball

So, what's everyone's thoughts on the possibility of someone dethroning 2 time defending Champ Manchester?

I don't have all the schedules entered, yet, but here's where you can find schedules, results, and standings throughout the year:

I see Northwest has a big lefty pitcher, Cory Burroughs, going to Gannon University. How is the rest of the team? How have they done the last few years? Most the time, for conference play (and the tournament), you need 2 good pitchers and a solid offense to be successful.

He sounds imposing. Not sure about the Panthers this year. They did get another pitcher, middle infielder with the Johnson transfer. Pitching should be decent. Wagner should be released also and he is another arm.

PAC-7 baseball schedules are up: http://www.pac7sports.org/sports/2017-18/bsb.php

If at any point I'm missing games throughout the year or don't have a reschedule date correct, please let me know. However, PAC-7 coaches are also logging in to provide scores and updated dates, so it should be kept pretty current. Thanks!

Good luck with your site! That is a tall task in keeping up with baseball. So many cancellations. Throw in the schools that are having down years tend to stop reporting scores and schedule updates as the season moves on.

Not many games were played last week by those stranded in Ohio. Hoping this week is kinder and that those few inches of snow overnight don't waterlog the fields.

Triway looks like it's ready to rule the PAC and Manchester looks like it's ready to become a has been.

Let's wait a few more weeks before we rush to any conclusions. I think that Triway will be good again this year after narrowly missing the league championship last year. However, Northwest (and others, I'm sure) will have a big say in how the conference shapes up. If we've learned anything about PAC-7 baseball over the last 6+ years, it's that Every. Single. Year. the conference race seems to come down to the last week of conference play with 2-3 teams still in the hunt.

Manchester has a new coach and graduated a lot from last year. Sure, they didn't look great in their conference opener against Triway, but give them some time and see how they are in a few weeks.

From talking to various individuals, they haven't looked good in ANY of their games. They appear to be a team that lacks confidence and it starts at the top.

CVCA certainly made a statement. With all these rain outs, everyone will be able to throw their #1 & #2's again soon.

Manchester blew another lead, this time to Coventry. Luckily it was rained out. Last night they blew a 6 run lead at CVCA. Called after 8 innings because of darkness. Tonight they will try again vs Coventry, Friday vs Triway and Saturday vs Lake at Canal Park.

The Panthers won their first 2 games of the season. They beat Coventry 12-6 and beat Triway 12-8. Johnson picked up the win vs. Coventry and Paljich picked up the win vs. Triway.

And also avenged a loss to CVCA with an 8 inning tie, 11-11.

With their win over Tuslaw, they have now won 3 in a row. Speedy and Johnson have heated up and are hitting. Perry has also been on a terror at the plate.

Panthers won their 4th in a row over NW, who had won 7 in a row, 3-1. Johnson with a triple to bring in winning run. Mack pitches 4 innings for win and Pajlich gets the save.

Looks like CVCA has it locked up. I'm a little surprised by them. I thought they lost to much from last year's team would win the PAC this year.

Manchester has a game to finish with them. There's still a mathematical chance they could tie or overtake them. It's a long shot, but possible.

Congrats to CVCA on clinching a share of the PAC-7. If Manchester beats CVCA and CVCA loses to Orrville, then the two teams would share.

Don't know if the tie game with CVCA will be played. Plus, Panthers have to play Fairless in the Sectional tomorrow. I doubt if they will play a 3rd time.
