When 40 percent of your school district is open enrolled, and you have had a couple up years in a sport, that might lead to some crazy accusations being thrown around. Surely you, who is affiliated with Hoban, know some of what I'm talking about. Who was accusing Hoban of cheating before 2015?

No one. Hoban never recruited anyone in its history before 2015. It was only when the new coach arrived that the master plan was put into place. Oh and when they beat St V.

Yup and the funny thing was we havn't even had half the success hoban had. We have our either 2nd or 3rd winning season in this millennium. And a decent basketball team in 2015-17, but they are kind of meh now. And someone with an axe to grind is already accusing us of cheating. Forget about the parents of 700 students who are Open Enrolled at Coventry for academic reasons. No, we are clearly sending agents into Kenmore and Firestone Park and actively recruiting. Makes a ton of sense.

Edit: Fun Fact, out of our 8 college bound football players this season, I believe 7 of them are from within the district. Sibley is the one who is not.

In all fairness H2, since Copley is closed enrollment those families had to make the conscious choice to move into the district to go to school there and play ball. In my opinion that's way more of a commitment than getting in a car and driving 20 minutes to a private school. My point is that they obviously thought it was worth it to make a move, for whatever reason. Buchtel had just relieved their longtime coach of his duties at that time, which probably contributed as well.

Wow you really think these kids live in the district? You are further gone than I thought.

Buchtel really made the game vanilla so this was the result I expected. I think if they match-up again Buchtel should win handily.

Interesting theory. After watching Buchtel play the last few years, they are well coached and win with aggressiveness. Not sure how you ask your kids to not play as aggressive to "hide" that part of their game for an unlikely playoff matchup.

I didn't see the game, so I can't say for sure what was done. But it could have been as simple as playing a half court trap as opposed to full court pressure. I've seen them do that in the past. They'd still be aggressive in their defense, but not wear down the opponent (both mentally and physically) the way they can when they put on the full court press. That would "save" a little bit for any potential rematch.

I guess Tallmadge should take that as a compliment since it seems that most people give Tallmadge no chance to get by StV in the semifinal.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that Buchtel's best player Jonathan King missed the game with an ankle sprain.
Second meeting should be a good one.
