Because it's the AKRON Beacon Journal, they only covered Akron area kids.

Agree. Same in the Soehnlen match. Called for stalling in both matches for backing up. He would not be my pick for OSU.

Freeman is listed at 174 on the depth chart; must be hulking up.

Not surprised. Looking at him as a sophomore at 132 compared to this past season at 160, hard to believe the difference in two years.

The Beacon Journal articles only cover wrestlers from the Beacon Journal coverage area. Kharchla (Olentangy Liberty) is obviously not in that area; Andonian is not in that area by school (St. Edward) or residence (Kirtland) ... the policy on covering residents that go to a school outside the coverage area differs from publication-to-publication (smaller publications are more likely to cover the resident it seems).

In Cadet Greco-Roman, four wrestlers have advanced to the semifinal round. I am presuming other wrestlers are in consolation. Those earning All-American finishes through the front side:
Davin Rhoads (Louisville)
Daniel Segura (Dublin Coffman)
Aaron Morton (Westerville South)
Alex Coleman (Hamilton Ross) - double All-American

That's correct. The article from USA Wrestling with the bios on each finalist said that he is already 16 as an incoming freshman (https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestlin...-Finalist-Bios)

To satisfy my own curiosity, I tallied the number of hold-backs from each set of bios published so far. Some states may have different cutoff dates for determining when a child can enter kindergarten, plus I was counting on my hands and it's really late, so it could be +/- a couple, but you get the idea.

Women's Cadet Freestyle: 0 hold-backs
Women's Junior Freestyle: 2
Men's Cadet Freestyle: 11
Men's Junior Freestyle: 14
Cadet Greco-Roman: 9
Junior Greco-Roman: 4

There were a handful of women that were actually a grade ahead of their age, and I think maybe one or two on the men's side.

Added info for Greco finalists; fewer holdbacks than freestyle, but some wrestlers didn't have grade listed so could be slightly higher.

Congratulations to Davin Rhoads (126) and Alex Coleman (285) for bringing home the big stop signs and Seth Shumate (4th, 170), Aaron Morton (4th, 160), Daniel Sugura (5th, 145) and Brent Paulus (6th, 195) for their AA performances. It was an amazing week of wrestling.

Four Ohio juniors have moved onto the quarters in Greco, others remain on the backside. Those in the quarters are:
Victor Marcelli and Lenox Wolak at 182
Matthew Cover at 195
Jack DelGarbino at 285

Marcelli and Cover were All-Americans in freestyle earlier in the week
