Who do all of you think will get the nomination? Biden, Warren, Bernard, Kamala, Pete or someone else?

A lot of the generational family kids that I went to Catholic grade school with had grandparents that funded having several grandkids receive K-12 Catholic education "because it mattered" and helped financially support them so they could go to UD or X for college. One of the core reasons Catholic education costs have skyrocketed has been these folks dying off resulting in a big drop in weekly giving and parishs having less ability to fund their grade schools as their staffing costs have risen with the decline of ordained faculty.

Generous "greatest generation" spoils have definitely been prominent in my family life. One grandmother that passed before I came of school age dropped stacks on "back to school" shopping for all seven of her grandkids (including my older half-siblings, i.e. non-biological grandkids) every year. I've heard a whole lot as I've aged that cost would not have been a prohibitive factor for Catholic high school had she not passed so early, and that a nice chunk of college tuition probably would have been covered as well. Incredible treatment from my "grandma" (non-biological, mom's first marriage) as well.

These folks benefitted from a growing economy. Their maturation in "boom" numbers swelled the wave as well. Just because they came of age at the right time, it is no reason to be jealous.

Younger under-achievers like Mud or parents of later middle-of-the-road kids can be angry at the early boomers for happily permitting the active out-sourcing of jobs because it was easy to pick the winners that swelled their 401Ks, and electing politicians that enabled it, I guess. That is legit.

Trump is trying to correct it. Abandon identity politics and vote for him. Start the next boom - for all. Don't carve up an economy in decline and fight over the carcass. Don't import unskilled, low end handout voters that further drag down the system. Pretty simple.

Perhaps the party manages to push him through with super and unbound delegates at their convention, but I feel like Biden will fall flat at some point. Perhaps he'll prove me wrong. It feels very wide open after him. I see a flavor of the month or dark horse candidate emerging after we get through a handful of primaries. Perhaps even someone who's a ways down the list in the polls at the moment and seemingly irrelevant.

I said Kamala from the beginning. I'll stay with that. She checks all the lefts boxes.

I don't know if she'll survive the nomination process, but she is the most likely to give President Trump a serious challenge.

And this is why stereotyping is tricky - everyone has different experiences and story's to tell. Though relatively "hard" data does support that the Boomers are very generous with respect to charity.

He already has a problem with not attracting much of the black vote, and he can't win without it.
So are you saying that to get the "black vote" Mayor Pete must throw a white police officer under the bus even if it was a justified shooting?

I think nwwarrior09 is closer to the truth - there is a prejudice within the African American community against gay guys with husbands.

I'm thinking Warren or Kamala. But I wouldn't bet more then a dollar on it. The dems are in the midst of a wide open race.

IMO, it's still Biden's nomination to lose, as it would have been in 2016. He may not excite the base, but he's a known quantity, Dems greatly appreciate him for serving under their beloved Obama for eight years, and he still carries at least the appearance of someone solid, dependable, and "traditional" they can hang their hat on.

But it's early yet.

Can you read? I said he showed no compassion, did not empathize with the community he’s leading, etc. Making someone feel seen and that their voice is being heard =/= “throwing a white police office under the bus”

Stop talking about LGBT prejudice when you voted for Trump and support his administration

If this were a town hall type of debate where those in attendance get to submit the questions, I would ask Uncle Joe right then and there whom he would pick as his running mate because there's more than a good chance he would die in office should he be elected.

Kamala. Pete has one foot out the door, Biden is going to get taken down by the media. What is interesting to me is that our first black president has not come rushing to the aid of his buddy Joe during this latest muck about tolerating racists. One word to the Dems and press from Obama and all this could go away. Why this hasn’t been done is very curious to me strategically.

If Kamala wins the nomination, how much will be made of her sleeping her way to the top? Will they not make much of it because she is a woman? I think she is kind of hot actually....

Depends on who “they” are/ Republicans? Yes. Media? No. They have practically slobbered all over her from the get go. The liberals think that because she is part AA she will carry that vote. I don’t believe that will happen.

1. Why in the world would you censor the word “porn?”

B. That’s some interesting false equivalence.

Show me one thing Trump has done or said in his 2015/2016 campaign and since he's been POTUS that convinces you he's prejudiced against the LGBT community?

And who was Mayor Pete supposed to show "compassion" to? The officer and his family or the thug that was shot? Twist it around all you want but Mayor Pete is in hot water because he didn't toe the BLM line after the shooting.

I didn't know if it was censored here or not. Not sure if it's still current, but random words here would be censored and disappear from posts

I guess we can chalk this up to the idea that one persons "prejudice" is another person's common sense actions.

Don't laugh but I suspect that Hillary is a dark horse candidate if the others blow up in the debates over the next couple of months.

As to whether the democrat candidate wins big, we'll just have to see. But I get that this is like the NFL preseason and everyone's team is headed to the Super Bowl!

If Hillary were to end up on the Democratic Party ticket in 2020, it would probably lead to a legit 3rd party within a couple of election cycles. She's as cooked politically as Jeb!, whether the Dem monied class realizes it or not.

Biden is the only one with a chance... and between his renouncing his entire career to pander to the extreme left and the MSM making him their whipping boy hes screwed.
