Concussions...not just for the boys, and not just football

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.7bfe16c4f48b

Interesting study done on concussions...it seems that football comes in at only #4 on the percentage of kids getting concussions. Girls Soccer, basketball and volleyball came in higher than football??

It appears maybe the neck muscles of female athletes may have something to do with it.

By today's standards I often wonder how many concussions I had better get my clothes out of the dryer.

My daughter plays volleyball, we've had 2-3 kids per season on concussion protochol from being hit in the head with volleyballs.

Contact football with today's great helmets is looking safer and safer...

On the ESPN tv show Pardon the Interruption, they talked about a story where Brett Favre is pushing for legislation where tackle football would be banned for kids until age 12?? I think Brett took too many headshots to have this opinion.
Youth football is the SAFEST form of football. There is reduced speed and collisions are very minimal. There is a bunch of wacky people out there.

Feel bad for 14red's daughter. Head injuries with her already bad genetics is not a recipe for success. She needs all the brain cells she can get.
