Velvet Buzzsaw - 4/8 Another mediocre movie from Netflix. Watching Roma later. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

The Prodigy (2019) 5.5/8 Good movie, not so much a horror flick as it was a thriller. A little boy, who everyone thinks is a genius, has something else going on inside of him. It was a different kind of story, kept you on the edge of your seat.

Law Abiding Citizen (2009) 6/8 Gerard Butler plays an ex-military contractor who watches his family get brutally raped and murdered. When the DA cuts a deal, he decides to enact his own revenge on the perpetrators and the legal system.

The Bowery Boys Meet The Monsters (1954)

Comedy/Horror: The Bowery Boys go to a mysterious house to see about land for a neighborhood kids baseball field. Of course we have the classic mad scientist and all his creations so let the spoof begin. Not a fan of these movies just needed something bad.... 2.5/8

7 Guardians of the Tomb (Australia-2018)

Horror/Adventure: Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Frazier) are you kidding me.... well this one felt like a SciFi channel type movie as Kelsey and his crew look to find his son who went missing looking for the fountain of youth. Throw in a ton of deadly funnel web spiders who hunt the crew and it is what it is..... 3.0/8

1666 (2011)

Horror: Found Footage.... Two couples drive around LA stopping at haunted sites. Borefest until we come to house 1666 where things start to happen. The problem with this one was it took to long to get to house 1666 where they could of done more with it. They told us at the end that the found footage was made into the movie we were watching so that explained the score at times in the film but they should of added that info in the beginning as it was pissing me off. (I am a big fan of found footage films) .... The 20 minutes though in the house was worth the watch at least for me but over all this one fell way short.... 3.0/8

I won't argue with the 2.5 but Sach, Slip and the gang are always good for a laugh. They were a big part of my childhood.

The Whole Truth (2016) 5/8 Keanu Reeves plays a defense attorney representing a teenage boy charged with killing his father (James Belushi) a lawyer friend of Reeves. I was pleasantly surprised with this movie and think it is definitely worth watching.

As Good As It Gets (1997) 7/8 I've always liked this movie and think it is one of Jack Nicholson's better performances. Nicholson plays a wealthy author with a serious case of OCD. He has some great lines and the movie keeps me laughing. Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear are also very good.

The Witch (2015) 3.5/8 Puritan family is banished from their village and is haunted by a witch at their new settlement. There was some tense moments, but I didn't really think it was that scary. And the old English dialogue made it hard to follow at some points.

Those creepy little twins were probably the scariest things in the whole movie, lol.

Would rate it higher than 3.5/8, though. Maybe a 5/8 for me.

They were speaking English after all. A few Elizabethan words thrown around here and there really didn't get in the way. I thought it was artist and scary. A thinking man's horror film. I had given it a 6/8. Maybe me seeing it in the theater made a difference.

The Hate U Give (2018) 6.5/8 An African-American teenage girl sees her unarmed friend gunned down by a police officer and struggles with how to handle the situation and her day to day life at a predominantly white private school. Really good movie.

Just watched this last week and give it a 4/8. Disappointed because it looked better in the trailer, despite it starring that goofy-haired smoinch from The Killing of a Sacred Deer.

I was left a little underwhelmed too. Thought it would be better. It had points where it seemed like it was going in a great direction, but then was left short. The kid acting was pretty good though I must say.

The Summer House (1972)

Horror: A housewife is determined that the Summer House she stays at hates her.... Strange things are going on here like why does the lid on the well keep sliding off. Seen better... 3.0/8

The Strange Possession of Mrs. Oliver (1977)

Horror: Karen Black... enough said.... also George Hamilton. Mrs. Oliver goes through a transitional phase where people mistake her for someone else. Something is just not right here! .... weak but it had Karen Black in it!!!! .... 4.0/8

The Forest (1982)

Horror: Two married couples decide to go camping out in the forest where there just happens to be a cannibalistic maniac as well as a pair of annoying kids and their abusive mother. Low budget that falls apart but hey, it had a 70's feel score!!! .... 2.5/8

First Man - 3.5/8

Perhaps because of high expectations. Has moments of Right Stuff and Apollo 13 but they quickly fade. It was a slow burn of Armstrong I guess. Gosling was not the man for this role IMO.

Widows (2018) 2.5/8 Three widows of gangsters try to pull off a robbery after their husbands are killed stealing from the wrong people. Not very godd.

Goosebumps 2 (2018) 0/8 Sequel to the Jack Black led original, just really, really bad.

Without Love (1945) - A sparkling Tracy and Hepburn romantic comedy set in wartime D.C.. The leads were typical Spenser Tracy and Kate Hepburn performances with strong and funny supporting performances by a very young Lucille Ball and Keenan Wynn.

5/8

I was a little perturbed by them interjecting the BS about him leaving his dead daughter's bracelet on the moon. It's a good enough story without it. I agree it suffers from the large expectations of it. It was also a little slow.
