Dave Dawg said McKinley has one of the toughest schedules in the State this year.

1-Jackson...And is one of the favorites to be State Champions.
2-McKinley/Hoover
4-Lake

3. McKinley
4. Lake
5. Glenoak
6. Green
7. Perry

Lake has their first game at Ursuline this Friday 12/2.
I will start a thread with their schedule and keep it updated throughout the season. I expect Lake to be about a 14 win teams this year. Not as good as the past few years, but still solid.
Your pre-season poll looks good. Hoover beat Mentor in a scrimmage last week and open up the regular season @ home Dec. 6th against Richmond Hts.

Good luck to all teams!

Should be a good League this year Jackson should be the favorite. They've had the top talent for the last 4 or 5 years it that doesn't mean everything l.
Lake is very well coached and always see to over achieve.
I think this is Hoover's best shot at doing something. They have a bunch of experience and talent. This is Coach Blackledge's 3rd year so the players should understand his system. McKinley will always be McKinley, I think they lost a lot but they always have talent coming.
Good Luck All

I'll add the league records in the top post and try to keep up with it. I'd also like to have the overall records and I will need help with that. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you want all scores for the Fed teams posted or just the league games?

Today Jackson beat Firestone 73-39 to go to 1-0.

They had only one player return with varsity experience from last year. Both Hoover and Hoban are top 25 teams in the area. What did you expect?

I was at the game. If Hoban is a top 25 team then there aren't 25 good teams in NEO. They weren't impressive at all. Neither team had any size at all.

You also have to remember that Hoban has only been practicing for a week.

2/3 of the team wasn't playing basketball before last Sunday because of football.

They were not doing well last night. Half the team had to go change clothes in the first quarter(including 2 players who were on the floor) because they were wearing undershirts that didn't match the uniform and one of the refs noticed.

Several of the players were routinely shoving players from the other team after the whistle.

Just looked very undisciplined.

It more making the move from to Glenoak as referenced by the poster above. The kids don't have the same makeup as the STA kids.

Agreed. Totally different environment and player mentality. Does this mean it is easier to coach at a private school where there is more control over the type of kids you attract/accept?

Do you believe that GlenOak kids aren't able to take direction? If you would like to see two examples of GlenOak kids that just don't have the same make up as STA kids watch the NBA . #41 Kosta Koufos Sacramento Kings and #3 C.J. McCollum Portland Trail Blazers

Yes, GlenOak has a different make up than Aquinas (Although 4 of STA top players came up through the GlenOak feeder system). What an outstanding observation. Are we really judging this guy on 5 games? He inherited a program that had not been worked in years. The previous staff coached the varsity and didn't tend to the rest of the program. That worked 30 years ago but not so much anymore. This guy went in and instilled a new culture. That takes time. Couple that with not a tremendous amount of talent and this is what you have. They will struggle to be around .500 this year and be just ok next year. By year 3 they should be pretty good moving forward.

McKinley coach Rick Hairston said the Bulldogs play one of the toughest schedules in Ohio.

I did some research and here are the teams better than us...

Jackson(Could be state champions)
Akron SVSM(A top team in the state)
Warren Harding(A top team in the state)
Iggy(A top team in the state)
Toledo St Johns Jesuit(A top team in the state)
Mentor(A top NEO team in the state)
Hoover(A top NEO team in the state)

We play Jackson and Hoover twice.

Other good teams we play...

Lake(We play twice)
Solon

That is 12 losses right there.

I say McK goes 7-5 or 6-6 in those 12 games.
