Heath D-2 District Rankings (Regular Season #1)

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.
I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

I started moving wrestlers up and down from their previous yearís weights. The new weights are partially based off of where theyíve been wrestling in the off season, though a lot of it is pure guesswork at this time.
Please let me know if anyone has inside information about new weights, schools, or wrestlers that they think should be added.

Iíve tried shifting the wrestlers around from schools that changed divisions. Please let me know if any are wrong, or if Iím forgetting any schools/wrestlers.

* = unsure about participation

-The schools of the incoming freshmen are based off of the previous Yappi thread. Please let me know if any are wrong or have changed.

Team:
1. Steubenville
2. Beaver Local
3. Claymont
4. Sheridan
5. Carrollton
6. Indian Valley
7. New Lexington
8. West Holmes

Steubenville still looks like the team favorite at the start of the season, although Beaver Local and Claymont will be right in the running for a district title.

I was informed that Fairfield Union will be heading to the southwest district this season, so Iíve swapped their wrestlers between districts.

I didnít see Givens listed among the alphas for Beaver Local. Hopefully, heís wrestling this year. If not, that could certainly affect the team race.

Licking Valley drops with the departure of state placer Gunner Carpenter who is reportedly not wrestling this season.

A special thanks to Boro Fan for all the insight into the weights of the wrestlers, Baumís Page, the OVAC website, Inside the Circle, and Jakeís Wrestling for all of the results that they provide, and to any of the other wrestling nerds that actually read these things.

I understand that, just don't think someone has to start complaining after 1 tournament that their kid isn't ranked high enough.

Anybody remember 30 years ago when we would have to wait months to see rankings in the report of Brakeman? How spoiled we have become.

He was cutting down from about 145 last year and always has his growth spurt at the end of the season which really stinks and defeats the purpose of taking advantage of the weight allowance. He's a heavy 160's/ light 170 though and not cutting at all. He's only at 7% body fat though so he can't even go 160 according to the alpha's.

Just to help eliminate confusion for some people, this thread should be renamed the Claymont D-2 District Rankings. Due to changes in sectionals and the relationship between the Central and East Districts, Heath will be hosting the D3 District and Claymont will be hosting the DII District.
