Perry vs. Wadsworth Scrimmage and Half of Regulation

In the varsity 10 play it was 1-1. Wadsworth scored first on a 3 yard pass on play 9 that was set up by a 27 yard out and up to the Perry 18.

The Panthers scored on a 54 yard bomb from QB Max Baker to WR Robbie Kirchner on play 5.

In the game condition, the rain came, but no lightning. Both teams punted on their first series. Wadsworth after one first down. Perry went three and out.
On the second series Wadsworth went from their 40 to the Perry 2, on almost all passes and on third and goal, scored on a 2 yard run, the P.A.T. was good making 7-0 with 5:17 left in the first quarter.
Perry fumbled after two first downs around midfield. Wadsworth drove to the Perry 18 on mostly pass plays and fumbled on their next running play. Perry drove to the Wadsworth 38 on their ensuing series, but fumbled after a nice 12 yard run.
After that the teams stalemated between the 35's until Perry picked off a pass at their 37 with 3:38 left and drove to the Wadsworth 13 with a first and ten using the Panthers backup QB. Chayne Treharn and the back up RB's. After a 3 yard gain on first down, Perry decided to throw three more times, which was a bit surprising. Wadsworth made two nice plays on the ball to set up fourth and 7 from the 10. A pass into the end zone was just off the fingertips of the Panthers receiver and Wadsworth ran out the last 1:08 to win 7-0.

Perry has some work to do with their DB's. Wadsworth got 95 % of their yardage throwing the ball. Very little running. Perry threw the ball decently, but turnovers hurt them. Perry had three turnovers and Wadsworth two.
Wadsworth looks much improved from last year. I felt they played with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. They hit hard, gang tackled and outplayed Perry for most of the first quarter and the first few minutes of the second quarter. They did a lot of run blitzing and it took Perry a series to adjust to it. Perry still has some work to do up front on offense.
