Dear Macinwhiner,
I understand you have no enemies, but are intensely disliked by both of your friends!

And now you can whine about my favorite bible quote:

Pope in da house.

I had 3 Burning Rivers this past weekend with some wings.
Excellent local beer from Great Lakes Brewery.

Pope I grew up in Cincy but have lived in Cleveland for years.
I know it is hard for you understand but the Browns are actually more laughable than the 1991-2005 Bungals teams.
Front office, Team, Fans ....all of it.

Oh Monsignor Popey!

First I have to give accolades to you! I never thought I would read actual religious scripture on here...but damn you went and made it work. I mean there is nonsensical scripture on here but nothing holey till now...lol

Yet I must help in the defense of the good brother Mac of the Jackson Brethren Monastery...I will just continue to Sirach 26:16

"Like the sun rising in the heights of the Lord,
so is the beauty of a good wife in her well-ordered home"

Mosignor..Yappi is not a well-ordered home!

Glorious.... we're also quite proud of Mt. Rumpke, one of the largest landfills in the country. And buried deep within the bowels of Mt. Rumpke rests a circus elephant in his final resting place!
Try topping that, Cleveland!

Parking was in someone's yard. The facilities were in bad shape (I assume the last 2 were taken care of). I remember the staff being surly and unhelpful (that goes for all 3 times I was there).

For St. X in 05 I witnessed the heartwarming moment when the Canton Police used police dogs to separate Families from hugging their sons after the game.

And then there were the Elder fans who suffered the humiliation of having to clean the snow off their own seats.

No special memories for me of Canton.
Here are two of my favorite complaints from the Cincituckians....the police dogs and having to clean snow off their seat. Lol.

Monsignor!

You are gracious in defeat as in victory!

I will collect my medal with all the Cincinnati swimmers who are at the State Swim Championships taking place in Canton this weekend.

They are just as gracious as you...not a peep from them about participating in a State Championship in Canton and Stark County!

4th highest attendance total of all time. Apparently getting there just wasn't all that difficult.

Not sure why My2sense has not posted this yet being is he is lead trumpet for Tom Benson Stadium. So here is latest article. The contractors STILL have not been paid. The bridge loan still isn't completed.

I'd expect high total attendance with the bump to 7 games in 2013 as opposed to anywhere from 3-6 games the first 40+ years.

And the only state final game played in Cincy was at Nippert and drew 22,751 for a single game. How does that compare to this years D1 title game?

1982 attendance was for a doubleheader, not just the D1 game...

Thanks for confirming my attendance figures.
You also confirmed the only game in Cincy (1980) was #2 all-time for a championship game.
The 1973 game with 2 NEO teams was #1.
Also, the 1982 game was all-time high, but it was a doubleheader.

So after nearly 50 years of thrilling Ohio high school football state championships, the attendance records are as follows:

#1) 1973 Youngstown Cardinal Mooney 14 Warren Western Reserve 3...... attendance 29,720 (helps with 2 teams from NEO and game played in NEO)
#2) 1980 Cincinnati Moeller 30 Massillon Washington 7........................... attendance 22,751 (game at Nippert in Cincy)

*1982 Moeller vs Massillon at OSU drew 31,409 but that was for a doubleheader

Therefore, the only time OSHAA tried the state title game in Cincy, it outdrew every other state title game (45+ years) played in Columbus & NEO except the game in 1973. And that 1973 game featured 2 teams from NEO with the game being played in NEO.

And that's with 1 team from SW and 1 team from NE.
Note: stats from the game show 1980 attendance at 22,751... but if you say 25,000 I'm fine with that.
The 25K came from Massillon paper article. The 22,751 is from the OHSAA. And they don't recognize the 1982 game because the OHSAA said it was a double header with MASS vs MOE and ST.V vs Ironton.

Indeed the 1982 game was a doubleheader with a fan base from 4 schools rather than 2 schools.

It helped that Massillon crowd back then thought they could actually win a state title on the field, it took several decades before that fantasy was put to rest.

30 years ago...all games drew better back then. You aren't seeing those numbers again.

I believe the Akron Rubber Bowl has that beat anyway.

Yep. I guess they missed the announcement before the game to stay off the field after the game...of course they make that announcement at any tournament game they've ever been to so don't know how they could.

And God forbid they clean snow off their seat...I bet they pay someone to clean off their car too.

No loan agreement with less than a week to go? Good god. But it sounds like the Port Authority is going to sign whatever is put before them:

Quote:
“Our goal is that stadium phase two is completed — everybody’s paid,” Simmerman said.
This is stupid. We already know Lichter will use that money for whatever he wants. There's an easier way out of this mess:

Quote:
Scott Goodspeed, president of Hilscher-Clarke Electrical Contractors and Engineers, and John Fether, vice president of operations for the company, attended Thursday’s meeting. If the loan doesn’t come through in the next week, Goodspeed said, “it’s not going to be pretty.”
Hilscher-Clarke is essentially saying they're going to file suit if it isn't resolved by the end of next week. There's a ton of equity in the stadium. No new loans -- tell Lichter to hand over the $8 million or force a sale. He had no trouble buying that Wal-Mart in Cleveland for $2 mil the other week. I'm tired of dancing around this clown. He CAN be removed from these projects so someone else can complete them, and it's time to get the ball rolling. 12-24 months of delays now or 10 years of delays later... no brainer. The Hoover plant can be in honest hands even sooner, say around summertime.

I've made essay-length posts about it already so I'll spare you all for once. That loan money will go nowhere but to pay off the liens, his loan at Hoover's, and in his pocket to grow his main company. Neither project will advance except at a glacial pace or if he gets some more public money. What part of the open fraud case of his don't the people at the Port Authority understand?

His "opinion" was idiotic much like all of yours have been. My post was simply about attendance. He took a cheap shot that you stupidly called an opinion.
