Just saw the kid's highlight film. Very impressive. Glad he's staying.

[QUOTE=Stizostedion;7001652]Bobby and some of the other Hoban posters seem a bit salty over missing out on that "mediocre" Manchester talent.
Nope and never said he was mediocre. I just implied that he would not stand out as much at Hoban and wouldn’t even be the best in his grade. The young man is a good athlete and I wish him luck. This is a family decision.

I can't remember if this was posted earlier and I'm too lazy to check, but the DC Coach Forret is returning. It appears he has worked out his work schedule and can coach again.

Ask some of the Manchester alums if they are happy with that especially guys who played under McDowell or Robinson when they were the DC.

I think we know the answer. He fits right in with the rest of the staff, though.

Considering the numbers Manchester has, he does a nice enough job. However, he is blessed with some studs returning and they should be much improved.

So much entertainment on this thread.
As a Triway fan, bummed to know we will have to face this guy again. Incredible talent. But glad that he will be able to continue playing with his friends.

Next year will be different because they will be using the other talent they have.

I played for both of those guys. It was a different era; offenses were different. We'd jump into what we called a four quick or three strong defensive alignment maybe three or four times a game to counter the primitive run-and-shoot sets of the time. Now, with the spread offenses most schools use, it would be every play. I've been critical of the defense in recent years because there have been plenty of times when kids were out of position or seemed confused about their jobs, and because at times it appeared adjustments were not made. That said, opponents with any athleticism can exploit teams that don't have it with these offenses, regardless of the defense being played. That's what they're set up to do. So, while I have questioned the defense, it's a different game, though Robinson did a good job countering the spread in the last years he was Defensive Coordinator.

By the way, anyone know who Manchester's third opponent is in the upcoming season?

The best match-ups I see available week 3 for Manchester would be Orange or Independence. I think Orange would be a great match up. They have some athletes and run a wide open offense.

I haven't heard anything yet. History shows they don't really advertise the schedule this early. France is kind of tight lipped about it. Why? Who knows. I have heard that there are a few Juniors making "Junior Day" trips.

You're either commenting on old news or you know a well kept secret.

Not saying this is a rumor, but if this already transpired, it would have hit the street by now. I can only think of 2-3 players that a Parochial would want from this team.

If true, that is the best kept secret in a long, long time. I will check my sources.

There is only one player on Manchester’s team that could even play at Hoban or SVSM and he is staying at Manchester. I can’t figure for the life of me why this guy is throwing these rumors around for no reason. Nobody is aware of any transfers. Please tell us who since you know so much Stizo. Or are you simply making this up???

Good point. However, I must differ with you on one point. There are 3 kids currently on Manchester's roster who can play at Hoban and St. V. Johnson, who played at St. V. Baker and Hettich. Let's not be too negative towards the Panthers.

I will give you that. I just know of the one and my knowledge of the Panthers is limited to this thread. I wasn’t trying to be negative against Manchester.

No problem. Just have to stick up for the Panthers. I assume you're talking about Johnson?

I only know of the Wright kid and he is staying home. I have not heard of anyone transferring into Hoban from Manchester otherwise. This thread should simply end, nothing to see here.

The panthers have two kids talented enough to play at Hoban ..... and their names aren't Johnson or Baker .... Johnson left St. V for more playing time at Manchester ...

Agreed. I will reiterate 2 points. There are no football players transferring to Hoban or St. V. Secondly, in response to players being able to play at either school. It was said only one could play of the 3 I mentioned and I said it was Johnson because he played at St. V.
This thread is growing tiresome.
