He has more talent than anyone besides east Canton coming up. Malvern will take back over the conference in 2019.

Any truth to TCC coach quitting already and them canceling the season?

The last I heard, the AD/girls basketball HC Murray Hooten resigned around the beginning of April. He lives and works full-time outside of T-County, and with also having a young family, he was finding it difficult to balance all of his time commitments. Walid Bardawil was then named as the new AD, while also maintaining his position as football HC.

TCC hasn't posted the girls basketball HC opening yet. I think TCC's only posting on OHSAA's website is for a varsity volleyball HC position.

There actually is legs to this rumor about TCC and no football in 2018. I do not think it has been verified though I know its a very real possibility.

Four weeks from the day that Bardawil was named TCC's new AD/football coach?

If true ... Wow!

Not enough players to field a team?

Shame if that happens.

Now we know why TCC coach was going to Dover and Phila middle school basketball games trying to poach kids.

TCC is in a tough place - hard to recruit from Dover and Philly - those districts do well

if there was a larger district closer failing on the state report card then TCC could get kids through the voucher system.

Maybe he just wanted to remind kids like Deneher (D) and Zemis (NP) of their younger years at TCCES.

Just found out TCC's coach did not quit. He does want to get their numbers up, though.

How about adding Cambridge and Harrison Central, bump Sandy Valley to the big school and put Ridgewood and Newcomerstown in the small school?

Colorswitch - the current configuration is what all schools wanted. Travel was the trump of alignment. I could see Harrison Central being a very real addition to the league and I for one would love it.

I don't see Cambridge however being a serious candidate - leagues are changing around the 70 corridor - their best bet is to join on of those

If people look at school size yes there are some obvious moves that could be made.

However those of us that witnessed the entire change and knew people in the meetings understand how we arrived at current set up.

and it is understandable what we have now. Newcomerstown straight up pumped the brakes and said their top priority was lessening travel, the trojans served as the catalyst. They stated they wanted to be with neighbors and that they had no problem being with larger than them schools claymont and iv. The rest of the teams and overall league just fell into place.

for all sports or just for football?

where did you hear this? news to me and I have ears all through the valley.

I am sure their coaches want to be in the small....but that was not what the higher ups were saying.

Would be interesting to hear from Trail fans how the league "just fell into place."

No chance at all...zero..that Harrison leaves the Buckeye 8 and stops playing our traditional rivals to join the IVC. Not a shot at the IVC, but no one up here wants that.

LOL mingua

The fans from Trail are disgruntled yes

but as far as my statement of falling into place yes it did, I mean, I didn't hear anyone stating they held a gun on anyone to join the league????

Absolutely! Not a shot at your statement.

I think a lot of people think they deserve an answer to the question: "Why did we (Trail) leave the PVC for the IVC?"

As far as I know (which isn't a lot) that question will never be answered, and that itself, implies something fishy.

so you are saying there is a potential pull out and go back to PVC by trail, we have been hearing on here of that all season and after. Sorry to see them go if that is true.

It is obvious that I am a huge fan and would want Harrison Central in the league.
I would not be mad at Newcomerstown if they said "can we take Buckeye trails place for football but leave us in with the bigs for all other sports to reduce the north on 77 travel.

I think the bigs would appreciate that as well. Or just have Newc do what Trail and TV did as they flippity flopped after fall sports north south.

IVC has options and don't have to jump, I hope the communities of Claymont and Buckeye Trail find peace, high school sports is hardly worth getting people all fired up to that degree of firing and boe placement blah blah

Buckeye Trail once again holds leverage, back in the fall it was "Buckeye Trail if you go, that's fine we have Coshocton waiting for their invite." Now that Coshocton has joined the MVL, hopefully the administration at Buckeye Trail uses it to their advantage. I personally love the league but I think the crossover games cost a small school a chance at the playoffs every year. Hopefully they get to stirring down at the Trail again.

All I know is from what I hear from a buddy of mine that I work with who has kids who play multiple sports. Today he had to take off work early to be in East Canton for a jr high track meet that starts at 4:00 PM! Poor junior high kids. Wont get home and in bed until midnight. Supposedly someone started a petition that had a bunch of signatures - including many student athletes in the school - demanding that they leave.

Sounds like Colorswitch hit nail on the head with his post.

If Trail walks, what about Cambridge as a replacement?

For football, shift Newcomerstown to the smaller division (they won't have the local gates they wanted, but they might be able to win some games) to replace Trail and put Cambridge in the big division.

Cambridge has 234 boys

Current IVC male enrollments
Claymont 244
Indian Valley 220
Tusky Valley 175
Sandy Valley 166
Ridgewood 163
Garaway 149
Buckeye Trail 128
Hiland 124 (no football)
Newcomerstown 123
East Canton 95
Strasburg 78
Malvern 76
Conotton Valley 68 (all sports except football)
Tusky CC 43

The football divisions would then be:
BIG
Claymont 244
Cambridge 234
Indian Valley 220
Tusky Valley 175
Ridgewood 163
Garaway 149

SMALL
Sandy Valley 166
Newcomerstown 123
East Canton 95
Strasburg 78
Malvern 76
Tusky CC 43

Eliminate the crossovers in football

see if Trail leaves
if so - see if Newc wants to bounce between seasons
check to see if there is ANYONE closer than Cambridge (yuck) as the next addition

Exactly!

Other than success of East Canton this year, small school record in cross over games had to be dismal. And don't count small school wins against Newcomerstown.....
