2018 baseball discussion

Discuss non Reds/Tribe/Bucs stuff here. Pretty happy to have baseball back tomorrow

I'm interested to see if the pace of play changes have any effect at all. Do not want the asinine extra innings, runner on second rule that's in the minor leagues now to invade MLB

I'm with you on not wanting to see the game get "tricked up" with the extra innings thing. I'm more of a traditionalist. If a game takes 14 innings, it takes 14 innings.

But I'm also a hockey fan. Traditionalists there thought that sudden death overtime, and then the shootouts, would ruin the sport. It's actually very exciting. The new 3-on-3 overtime is the most action-packed exciting thing in sports IMO.

So if they do change baseball in some "crazy" way, I'll give it a fair look...

Cannot stand Matt Vasgersian and Jessica Mendoza on SNB. A-Rod is good though

Giancarlo Stanton smacked 2 homers yesterday. And # 268 and 269 for his career.

Albert Pujols hit career #615 home run yesterday. And now has 2,970 hits. Just 30 more for 3,000.

Saw him take one out at Wrigley last year. Make at least one trip a year.

We do the family "Cubs Caravan" the week before we go on our family vacation. Drive to Des Moines back to South Bend down to Sayersville, TN over to Myrtle Beach..... then up to the Outer Banks. That covers AAA, A, AA & Advanced A..... I'm trying to talk her into starting the trip by driving out to Eugene to cover the Short Season A then back.... hasn't happened yet.

The relief pitcher in that game got a save because he pitched three innings. Lol

Also the Astros won in a really funny way. Bottom of the 10th inning, 2 outs, man on second base. High fly ball about 20 feet from home plate and the first baseman charged but ran too far and didnt even make an attempt. Runner on 2nd scored as the ball dropped.

Hosmer looked so pissed, wonder if he's realized yet that signing for the Padres was a mistake. On the bright side he gets to live in San Diego

Not to mention that of the 18 outs, 11 are strikeouts.
