Two interesting names. McLaughlin has coached private in the past but is now in STRS and Princeton is one of the best paying districts in the city. He'd be nuts to leave his job there.

Harrison is a pretty good gig, not what it used to be, but still good. I'm sure McCullough would be floored if he got a call from LaSalle.

But no matter what I see Beauchamp getting the job.

I'd be happy with this. I'd also be thrilled if all the defensive coaches stuck around.

Let's hope not, the coaches at Massillon couldn't win with all that outside recruited talent, they would be awful at LaSalle.

Elder might play too nice at times but they would have offered Hilvert without hesitation. I can also say Hilvert would definitely take the Elder job as long as Ramsey isn't forced out. Everyone knew LS was a stop gap for him as he pretty much had to resign from TM after the incident with his wife.

That'd be interesting. The sentiment on this forum is Moe fans would drown Rody in a shallow pond if they could get McLaughlin. McLaughlin can coach and it's an added bonus of being able to stick it to a competitor.

But didn't he already win there with all the outside talent that LaSalle brought in?

It seems that there a lot of would-be coaches on Yappi. You have ten days to submit your qualifications.

The talent was already there. That 2014 team was loaded to the gills. They had:

Larkin- Nwestern
White- UC
Mumford- High D1 offers
Doerger- Toledo (?)
Herbert- Yale
Farwick- Valpo
Thompson- Nwestern (4 year starter)
Gebbing- OSU walk on
Jester- OSU walk on
Chrisman- OSU

An Eds v LS Title game would have been an outstanding matchup.

Yeah but I hear that talent was also "brought in" ala St. Gerry Faust and Father Chuck Kyle.

Becca could hook back up with the Cincinnati horror film underground and make more softcore porn if he went back to lasalle.

Can a massillon fan really complain about LaSalle "bringing in talent"?

Why would he go back? Isn't he making 6 figures at Massillon? Plus, he's not a LS Alumn, he has no real allegiance to the school.

No...everyone knew he was going to look for a college position as early as the end of his first season....he has departed on good and honorable terms.

Having said that, I don't think he will ever want to come back to LaSalle or any high school job....He just didn't like it as much as college.....I wish him well.

He would take the Elder job. However, Ramsey will be at Elder at least another 5 years. I guess it's possible he'd consider the job in 5 years since he'll still have kids close to HS age.

Maybe, but if he didn't like dealing with the parents at LaSalle...he sure won't like them at Elder in 5 years.

It appears that these last couple of coaches are using Lasalle as a building block
For their own aspirations, which is their business.

At this point, it doesn't really matter that much who the next coach will be, as long as they remain in D II they'll have 90 percent chance of winning several more titles. That's how good they are and the players they have and the Lasalle system they have.

They are solid Year after year and arguably play in the toughest league in the state

Nobody likes dealing with the parents anywhere. I'm sure Elder's are worse than LS but Hilvert knows the deal. This is all speculation on my part as:

1. Ramsey's youngest graduates in 5 years, but there's no guarantee he'll retire. I think he'll only be in his mid 50s by then, could still coach another 5-10 years if he wanted.

2. Currin is the in all likelihood the next HC as he's been promoted to DC at only 30/31 yrs old.

3. Hilvert might find success at Baldwin Wallace and take the next step to a D1 staff.

As much as I'd kill for Hilvert to be Elder's HC, I'd say there's a very minimal chance it ever happens.
