Good one, lol.

Just curious what is Hoban? The De La Salle of Ohio or the Marian Local of D2?

I think it's natural for big division 1 schools to play each other. You guys think differently I guess but I wish we could play it sometime

At least you gotta face the teams in the playoffs if you ever want to get back to the decades ago power

I have no dog in this fight, but if youíre hinting at Mckinley is scared to play you then youíre a fool. They play a good enough schedule already with teams that are close. If they had to fill a date Iím sure they would schedule mentor.

Mentor destroyed Massillon in '16 and '17, and the Tigers said "uncle". Mentor scheduled St X in '15 and '16, but decided to replace them with St Eds this year to avoid the long trip.

How long have you had your current head coach? He's a very good one.

Yeah I don't want to schedule Mentor going forward anymore, lol. Or Iggy/Eds for that matter. Might be competitive 2-3 times every 10 years or so. Times have changed. But Massillon is not D1 anymore so...

Would have less of a beef with Hoban or TCC. D2 teams we'll have to compete with. Added Barberton away next year which is a nice add. 4 road games.

They scheduled us in the 90s when we sucked. But they won't even entertain the thought right now

These type of games should be scheduled. Mentor against big publics who are competent programs. Instead teams like McKinley avoid us to play D4 schools and we are stuck with playing 2 junior colleges back to back

We may as well cheat and recruit since we are avoided like the public schools that do that anyways

But many of their fanbase acts like they'll take on anyone anytime. That's a thing of the past. They can't claim that anymore

Interesting comparison since Mentor has not won a title nor are they even the best team in D1 this year.

Who is the best team in D1? 2 best teams I have seen this year by far are Mentor and Hoban, and it hasn't been close.

Mentor Vs. McK

McK is clearly the under dog. They must play a very good, not perfect, but very good game to be around at the end. Big mistakes, running clock! Run defense has been a problem even against the average Fed teams. McK very small line and backers.

Colerain has been the consensus #1 for a few weeks now. And look the part imo. I would put Mentor #2. Both are great. Can't count Ed out either.

I'd rank Colerain one but I haven't seen them. Eds is close to Mentor and that will be a dogfight. If mentor wins this one the next 3 would all be toss ups

I can agree with 2 of 3 after this one being closer....not sold on R2 giving R1 a legitimate fight this year though.

Our schedule is tailored to prepare us best for making the post season, and when the talent is there, we will likely play your team anyway in R1. As far as our team goes, we are mostly underclassmen this year. Our senior quarterback is going to West Point to play for Army. We are much smaller than Mentor this year.
An hour, or perhaps an hour and a half is too far away for a home and home? The Fed has softened you boys up that's for sure. LOL.

Ok troll, now back to your own thread with yearling? whoever the h they are. I'd rather risk a bloody nose against Mentor in the playoffs than suffer through rounds of hideously mediocre teams I've never heard of like Massillon does. I'd be in a coma by now. Then when you finally do play someone, they score 56 unanswered points on you. Now go back to your double wide and enjoy 0-47.

Um, all I said was that you're using the excuse of an hour drive. Tell it for what it is, son. You don't want to play Mentor. I get it. I thought we were moronic for playing St. Ignatius all those years.

And the best part is you cant make a choice to avoid a team in the playoffs. How did those matchups go? Of all people criticizing anyone else for not playing certain teams, massillon is probably not the optimal one to criticize others.

Brunswick is the same distance as Akron from us but better parking and such.

Could have put it at Solon which is the same trip for McKinley but is what it is

Im sure it doesn't make any difference to McKinley, either.
The Bulldogs are happy to be playing week 12 wherever! :-)

Mckinley's season ends Friday. Yes, my team is out but if the Pups played Eds or Ignatius in round one they'd be sitting home this week too.

Mentor is just way better this year, and i respect both McKinley and Massillon

I think the decision had to do with Brunswick's capacity (7500) vs Solon (5500). Not that I think they will exceed 5000 for attendance. Mentor didn't even pack the visitor stands at Bedford for their 3rd round game vs Ed's last year.
