But when they fly to the ball, gang tackle, and come up and smack you they catch allot of teams by surprise with the physicality. The line is extremely battle tested and holds up against much bigger fronts. 3 is the best cover corner in our league and he is a play maker. 4 is pretty tough too.
Sheridan is a legit final 4 contender and would be in several divisions. Their skill players and speed is off the chart and they go 6'3 250 across the board up front. I believe Sheridan would match up favorably with Wadsworth.
I will eat crow if this defense loses by 3 scores to anyone in the region.
Probably the biggest takeaway from this past week when I watched them for the first time this year. They are not intimidating getting off the bus as you said but man come game time they will fly around and smack ya! I would agree just on what I saw that Wadsworth will have not seen a D quite like this. It also can be said that the TV D hasn't seen an offense quite like Wadsworth's. Something's gotta give, should be a great one!

Good rebuttal.
That’s why they play the game. Notice I didn’t guarantee a victory but I am guaranteeing a battle. An 11-0 D2 team in week 12 deserves the respect they’ve earned. Looking forward to a great game/ environment in a packed house.

Wadsworth wins easily. TV will not be able to out score them.

Based on your analysis(Wooster taking Wads to the limit both games). Then, how do you take this into account. Wads beats Medina by 21pts, who beat Solon, who beat Mentor) Is Wads better than Mentor? Nonsense!
My analysis is that Wadsworth defense is questionable. In a low scoring game Wadsworth could be in trouble.
Wooster had several underclassmen playing on their lines. The coaching staff got the most out of them and Wooster had a good year. I had to eat crow concerning TV a few years back when they beat Boardman and gave Massillon Perry all they could handle. I will never underestimate them again. Wadworth was able to dominate Wooster's dline at the end of their games when they needed it. I hope I am wrong but I think TV's defense won't buckle like Wooster's. I will be rooting for a Wadsworth win but a TV victory would not surprise me.

I have not seen Wadsworth but their D can not be any worse than Barberton. I could be wrong but the only teams that didn't score more than 10 were 4-26. The rest of the league was just way down. I think this will be a low scoring game, and this bodes well for TV. They have to keep Wadsworth under 24 points.

Good luck to both these teams. Hopefully it is a hard fought game that goes down to the wire. Think this has the potential to be an absolute barn burner. Will be keeping an eye on this one from Mansfield. May be a mild upset if TV is able to get the win?

Just checked the hourly weather update for Dover tonight. At game time (7-9) it shows 36į with a 20% chance of rain. Here in Dresden currently, it is really coming down, so I'm assuming it's not much different up in Dover right now.

It's been pouring rain (in Dover and surrounding areas) since early this morning - and still raining at this moment.

Crater Stadium will hold this crowd tonight - and is always a great venue for playoff football.

Since I’ve been beating up on our defense a little bit I thought I would look at some numbers. I know these are just “useless stats” as one poster put it but they do help to show trends. These are the average points scored for our opponents offenses and what we gave up against them.

Firestone. Avg PPG 13.9 vs Wadsworth 0
Wooster. Avg PPG 41.3 vs Wadsworth 31
Medina. Avg PPG 25.1 vs Wadsworth 7
Nordonia. Avg PPG 38.9 vs Wadsworth 25
Stow. Avg PPG 27.3 vs Wadsworth 21
Cuyahoga Falls. Avg PPG 11.7 vs Wadsworth 0
N. Royalton. Avg PPG 36.2 vs Wadsworth 21
Twinsburgh. Avg PPG 21.2 vs Wadsworth 0
Brecksville. Avg PPG 18.7 vs Wadsworth 0
Hudson. Avg PPG 21 vs Wadsworth 13
Wooster. Avg PPG 41.3 vs Wadsworth 38

So we kept our opponents on average 12.8 points below their average. I guess my concern is we gave up a lot of yards in those games. Even a few of the shutouts the teams moved the ball very well. We either tightened up in the redzone or forced a turnover. I worry against the better teams their drives aren’t going to stall. They’re going to be able to move the ball up and down the field and finish those drives with scores, like Wooster. I hope I’m wrong and they continue the bend but don’t break defense.

Wadsworth offense avg PPG 41. Defense avg PPG 14.2
TV offense avg PPG 34.5. Defense avg PPG 7.8
If you take the offensive averages vs the defensive averages you get a 24 to 24 result. Lol. This game looks extremely close on paper. But we all know the games aren’t played on paper. A lot of things will factor in with a huge variable being weather. The nasty weather conditions would favor a defensive team. If the weather makes a multi dimensional offense one dimensional and TV shuts that down we’re in for a long night. But that’s why we play the game! All the speculation will be answered in about 8 hours.

3.5 hours to game time, GO Dawgs!
Good luck to both teams in what I feel will be a great game! Leave it all on the field. 1 of these teams will have a great group of seniors playing HS football for the last time. May the best team win and represent in week 13!

Good luck to Tri-Valley. By now it should be apparent to the fans of both teams that #19 QB/WR is out for the season. Broke his wrist the last few minutes of the Barberton win. Hoping other kids step up and give the offense a spark.

Congratulations to Wadsworth. Good luck against Mass. Washington.

Proud of Tri-Valley. Defense played great again. Just on the field too long.

FYI: Besides TV #19 QB being out with a broken wrist, #6 popped his shoulder on his passing arm out against Barberton and played through some pain this week.

Sounds like a pretty good game. Not nearly the beat down some called for, and plenty of room in the stadium, as predicted.

Happy to see seating was not an issue, Crater was just a little over half full. Best of Luck to Wadsworth and Tri Vally can be very proud of the effort.

Act like you’ve been there before. And clean up all those personal fouls this week.

Congrats to Wadsworth. The better team won. We played our usual great D but not enough O to advance. That’s a great offense to hold to 13. Dawgs have nothing to be ashamed of there. Good luck in week 13.

Congrats to Wadsworth. Great effort tonight. Really proud of TV though. You guys have nothing to hang your heads about, especially Fargus (#6) at QB. Very gutsy to come out and try to play through the pain. We were just too 1 dimensional tonight with Fritter out and Fargus playing with a bad shoulder. Great effort again by the TV defense, they were just on the field far too long and wore down in the 4th qtr. Hopefully Wadsworth can pull the upset next week and slay the giant that is Massillon.

I am a Wadsworth fan who sat on the Tri-Valley side, of course I didn't do any cheering. The Tri Valley fans seemed like fine people. I said in a previous post I was worried about the Wadsworth defense and I hoped their offense was as suspect as some people had posted. I also said I knew their defense was for real. The TV defense was just as I suspected but I was really surprised by how inept their offense was. I know they had some injuries recently but so has Wadsworth. Snowball wasn't anywhere near 100 percent after getting injured last week.

Iíd say thatís a good, honest assessment. Iím not going to call out kids or positions but we didnít have an offense that was going to make too much noise and I will say the play calling adults could do a lot better. We had a playoff D. Thatís not enough this time of year.
