I think Dover also has more standing room.

I'm glad TV gets the home side (beat the #2 seed, get their spot). I like to sit near the top rows. Better view

Not true. Top of bracket which in this case is TV.

In years past when Tri-Valley as the #7 seed beat the #2 seed, then Tri-Valley was the home team the following week. Unless a rule has changed, TV is home.

Looks like Cover3 verified that.

This is correct TV is now essentially the 2 seed!

I’m going with our mean Dawg D in a nail biter, 17-14. This group is battle tested, expects to win playoff games. Tressel ball at its finest, great punter

It does look a little small for Wadsworth on the visitors side. TV should have enough seats for its fans on the home side.

Typical OHSAA to put playoff games in stadiums that are not large enough to hold them and then wonder why attendance is down. You can't hold a division II playoff game in a stadium where the visitor stands only hold maybe 800 people. There are plenty of sites with more than enough capacity on both sides to hold these playoff games.

Pretty sure the OHSAA can only pick from the stadiums where the school applied to be a playoff venue. Taking that into consideration along with travel for both teams, often leads to some dissatisfaction.

Crater holds close to 5K with standing room, IIRC...a packed house will be more fun anyway.

This is a pretty cool website. I'm not sure how accurate their numbers are, but they are probably pretty close. Crater is listed at 4000.

This stadium is to small for this game. After the game plan on taking forever to get out of the stands(only 2 exits) on each side. If not parking on site (limited)watch out parking on the streets, no sidewalks

If the ohsaa allots equal tickets to both teams -the visiting team has the opportunity to invade both sides of the field.......if you travel well enough for said venue. Then who truly has homefield advantage?

At the end of the day at a neutral site it really doesn’t matter who’s the “home” team. Other than which side of the field you sit on. If Wadsworth runs out of seats on their side they will just trickle in on the home side. Not ideal. Most fans of the team would prefer to sit together and cheer. What I don’t understand is, your seed to start the playoffs is determined by your body of work for the ENTIRE season. Why would they flip seeds over ONE game? In a regular season game, would that win over Barberton have moved TV from #7 to the #2 seed? Would Wadsworth’s win over Wooster moved them to the #2 spot? I’m sure someone knows the reason I just find it odd.

Seeding is done to separate and give some sort of order for the bracket. At this point home/away does not really matter except for jerseys and sidelines.
They did not flip seeds, Trivalley is still the 7 seed in region 8. The bracket states the first team in the pairing is home. It has nothing to do with seeds, it did for the first round but after that, the top of the bracket is home bottom is away.

^ wich is another way of saying Tri Valley flipped the 2 seed. They still have a #7 before their name but they took the place of the 2 seed. Semantics

Tri Valley had a great run last year and a huge shutout over Barberton last week. They are battle tested. Wadsworth found a way to win against a Wooster team twice that has a qb that can run and throw and gave Wadsworth fits. Rest of the schedule for Wadsworth was handled nicely. I see Wadsworth scoring atleast 28 points and winning this game with there balanced running attack with speed and power and a passing attack that can hurt you also.

Crater stadium visitor side holds 1,800 that’s 8 rows, each being 100 yards long, End zone seats hold another 1,000. Dover hosted the Tri Valley Massillon Perry round 2 playoff game a couple years ago and seating was not an issue. A Dover phila game brings about 7 to 8 thousand. Parking within 100 yards of the stadium for 4 or 500 cars if we don’t get a ton of rain as they are grass.
Everyone wants to come down Slinguff to Crater, creating a backup,Tri Valley fans,if you would follow 4th street east, make a left on Betcher it will take you to the upper lot. (Since you are coming from the south)

It’s a neat picture but from 2003. A 100 foot long press box and 4 rows of seats were added in 2006. The 4,000 capacity is from the early 60s when both sides were the same height and do not include end zone.

Tri-Valley's number of boys should go down a little the next few years. TV should be D3 in 2019 and years beyond.
Is this the same Kevin Fell that coached at Elyria?

If Wadsworth can get to 28 points, they'll deserve the win. Tri-Valley has only let 1 team get over 20 points all year. Very stingy on points, will let you get some yards but keep teams from scoring. I think it'll be a good game. Classic great D against a great O. They kept Barbertons high scoring offense to lot of yards, but no points. Let's see if they can do it again. Tri-Valley 17-13

Wadsworth's injury to best WR is a killer in game like this. Much different passing game without Risher on the field.

Agree. Hard to replace a guy like that. Leading receiver in Medina County at the time of his injury. Wadsworth single game record holder for most yards in a game. Crazy thing is it was his first year of high school football! Hadn’t played since youth. He was hurt a few weeks back and Wadsworth has adjusted and guys have stepped up. They still have plenty of play makers. But it sure would be nice to have Risher!

Sounds kind of familiar, only we are missing our best receiver for different reasons. Taylor was a transfer and could only play in the 1st 5 games of the season and had to sit the rest of the way. It does hurt not having a playmaker like that in your offense and as punt returner.

I agree. It would be nice for everyone to be at full strength during the playoffs. Is he out for the season, or is it a week to week thing?

Neither side is big enough to seat Wadsworth unless the weather is bad. What is so great about SRO when it comes to the playoffs? The OHSAA has done that to Wadsworth for years when picking a neutral site for a tournament i.e. football, girls basketball, etc. Coming from a city the size of Wadsworth, very few teams get more fan support "on the road" than the Grizzlies.
