Hoping this game is at Dover or New Philly.

Tri-Valley has a lot of linemen back from its state runner up team from last year. Some big and strong, some big and fast as a running back. Strength of the team. TV has consistently shut down the run. Not as great stopping the pass but they get the job done.

Offense has not been consistent the second half of the season. Most games 50/50 run/pass. Depends on what the other team gives them. TV is not going to put up big points against good teams, but so far the defense has not needed big points. Only loss came to the 3rd best team in the league (John Glenn) a week after TV beat the best team it has faced this year (Sheridan).

Looking forward to watching this team face another strong opponent. I agree, New Philly or Dover would be great. Already have dinner choices nailed down for either.

My bet would be New Philly. Seems like a logical choice. Relatively halfway between and they have great facilities. TV has had a few playoff games at NP and I enjoy it there. I read on another thread that Wads likes to run the ball and have 2 complimentary backs. I haven't watched video of them yet and wont get a chance to til Sunday night, so how are their backs and line as compared to Barberton and Young? He was a load to get down once he got going. The 1st half we were able to get at him at the line, but in the 2nd he was able to get through the line and was carrying would be tacklers an additional 5 yards.

Wooster, ashland, mansfield, orrville, west holmes, dover, new philly, massilon, north canton. I definately think they should choose a large venue. Both of the teams travel well and have large passonate fan bases.
Two very similar communities.
I have been looking forwatd to this matchup since i saw the new regions. Ive spent time in both communities and have always thought how similar they were.
We have the matches vs. The baskets...

Wadsworth offense is very balanced but will take what the defense gives. The coach will play the hot hand and the last two games that has been the run game. Last night was a rematch of our week 2 game vs Wooster. Our quarterback threw for over 300 yards in that first game so I think their defensive scheme was geared towards the passing game so we were heavy run. Quarterback threw for around 2000 yards and 20 tds with a completion percentage around 75% in the regular season. We have two great running backs each around 1000 yards and double digit tds each. Our defense is what scares me. Against our stronger opponents this year weíve given up a lot of points. Even against some of our lesser opponents we gave up a ton of yards but kept them off the scoreboard. They force a lot of turnovers but give up a lot of yards on the ground and through the air.

So...Wadsworth offense vs. Dresden defense. Now watch the opposite happen, lol.

Giving a slight nod to Dresden. Whoever wins is pretty darn good.

Iím sure there are. Both teams usually have a few. Which translates to their successful football programs. Wish my Bluestreaks pushed for more football players to wrestle.

Compare strength of schedule and their 2 backs (compared to Barberton"s 1 back) are both a load to bring down after initial contact. Also, no 2 way players for the grizzlies.

Yes, Barberton was in a transition year, and if we had moved on, Wadsworth would have beaten us anyway IMO. Wadsworth is a bigger stronger team that should have been the 2 seed, but OHSAA (who sucks) saw it differently.

I think he means that Wadsworth was likely the second best team in the region.

Seedlings are objective math. There is no wizard behind the curtain, it’s a formula for all to see.
We’ll have to see if the TV defense is impressed by big stats. Should be a great matchup.

I donít think any team is impressed by ďbig statsĒ. Maybe a level of respect but thatís it. They will show up and do their jobs like any other team would. The team that executes the best usually wins. I have not seen TV play a game but shutting down a high scoring Barberton offense tells me all I need to know. Wadsworth has a great offense but will obviously have their work cut out for them. Should be one hell of a game

That is something Fell has implemented at TV as well. There are very few 2 way players. With Buttermore, our best athletes always played both ways, this year with Fell, not so much. Being a border line D2/D3 school, I think your best players need to play both ways

No Tri-Valley player plays full time both ways. There are some offensive players who rotate in on defense at times and some defensive players who rotate in on offense at times.

I thought Bradshaw and a few other linemen played both ways? I could be wrong, but I thought I saw 76 playing on the o line.

There might be 1 or 2 I am missing, but I think you will see a lot of those guys rotate out. From what I notice, usually certain guys rotate in and out on offense and play D full time and vice versa.

While I enjoyed college football the last 9 hours, I also watched the Wadsworth games against Hudson and Twinsburg. Play calling and many formations are similar to Tri-Valley. #3 Loparo for Wadsworth is similar to TV's #22 Sands and #33 Panteleo. #14 Snowball is a load. Similar to TV's #24 Kendrick (MLB) when he ran the ball some last year. Wadsworth receiver #4 Labus is similar to #19 Fritter as a receiver.

Wadsworth was run heavy, but the other teams could not stop it. Passing game was good. TV might have a slightly better passing game and Wadsworth a better running game. Wadsworth D swarms to ball similar to TV. Makings of a great game.

Bradshaw, Lawler, Miller, French, and Sands play both ways some. Bradshaw and Lawler play the most.
