Walsh Jesuits Scott Beigie resigns.

Back to back days with NCL coaches resigning.

Who’s next up for the warriors?

No real surprise here. Scott is a great guy and deserved a chance to run the show at his Alma Mater, it just didn't work out for a variety of issues discussed here. Hopefully his health will improve and he can figure out what he wants to do moving forward.

In the mean time Tim Tyrrell is the dean of NCL coaches with 6 years of service, second in line is NDA's Mooney at 4 years. Currently coaching stability in football seems not to be the hallmark of the NCL...

I've heard nothing but good things about Scott. Too bad it didn't work out. It will be interesting to see what comes out of this and whether the administration will have any interest in resurrecting this dying program. I understand there may be other changes afoot at the school that may help.

If they are not willing to actively recruit (legally that is), not sure the program will come back to old standards?

Doubt the bad taste in larlham's mouth has gone away since getting passed over 4 years ago, only to move across the street and ressurect that program.

I suspect that Bill Ricco is more likely to come out of the grave and coach the Warriors than Dan Larlham is to come back across Wyoga Lake Road.

They actually wanted Vasselotti the first time anyway.

I recall him being not happy about being passed over when Biegie was hired. At that time he said he would not leave CVCA to take Walsh position. We'll see if time heals all wounds and how much money is thrown his way. Is he a teacher?

Right now Larlham's focus is taking the Royals to the playoffs. I wish them well.

You think he would take it if they offered it to him? I heard him and Barb Salata are pretty tight.

Agreed. With the last two seasons, it seems that the problems may run pretty deep. Hard to see Larlham walking away from what he's built across the street, but anything can happen I guess.

There are some really good players coming back at the Academy next year as well.

So, I'm confused. Didn't WJ used to be a coveted job? Where's the pub on this board? Any ideas of the candidates?

I think if Mark Hassman is now the AD, that goes a long way to luring a more attractive candidate.

Is Vassalotti the favorite? What about Carroscia, former head coach at CVCA?

I seriously, seriously doubt that. His team was still in the playoffs and it would have been extremely foolish and unprofessional of him to show up there under these circumstances.

Larlham is a professional, and he's certainly no fool. With that in mind, do you think that he's going to walk into a situation where athletics have been de-emphasized? It is plainly obvious that is what is going on there and not even Chuck Kyle or John Cistone could come in and fix that.

My understanding is that Hassman is being groomed for the job but, for now, Barb Salata remains the AD there. Nothing more needs to be said about that.

He was last time but Walsh will not pay him over scale and won't free up any classes either. Not sure he has max years in strs yet, then possible maybe.

COACH DAN, was at Walsh Jesuit to pay his respect to someone retiring from there. That is all, had nothing to do with football.

As an outsider, that sounds ridiculous and I cannot imagine that is true. They are winning in many, many sports. Their facilities are very nice and they have a stable enrollment and very good support. They may not be winning in THE sports at the level of Hoban or St V right now or at the level some of their boosters want (that is true at 99% of the state's schools) but they hardly seem to be de-emphasizing athletics.

At the end of the day, while Walsh is not want they want to be right now and they are not what they once were but everything is cyclical. The majority of athletic programs in northeast Ohio would trade for Walsh's athletic program's past and present.

If they are willing to pay above market and outside their comfort zone . . . IF . . . I think that they could make a run at Dan Reardon at Canton McKinley. He may not be interested, he may not like the financial package, but I think he would at least listen.
