17 Hocker I think is going D1 in football. #2 Heard qb is a very good runner. # 12 Mc Entire is fast but is a basketball player. Bryant is a good FB. You will be shock at how small Deer Parks roster is. Oh, and Deer Park doesn't have a Tony Pike so Coldwater is safe. Is Reading the last CHL team to play Coldwater?

Cant be much smaller of a roster than that Bethel-Tate team we played a few years ago. I think they had 21. And yes thank goodness for no Tony Pike (go Bearcats!)

Coldwater vs the CHL

1-0 vs Madeira (2001)
0-1 vs Mariemont (1995)
0-1 vs Reading (2002)
2-0 vs Wyoming (1998,2001)

So yes Reading was the last Cincy Hills League team we played

One more thing Deer Park fans. Our head coach has a weekly podcast on our football website and that has been posted for this week. www.cavfootball.com

Yeah, take 127, but take the business route off the highway at Greenville and go through downtown to get some Maid-Rites. Then come back through and check out our 3 new wind turbines. Just goofin'. Coldwater is always a good host. Enjoy the trip.

1998...the ole DO OVER game that was a total 14 point turnaround, luckily that referee horrible call didn't cost the Cavs.

As my scouting report suggested earlier, they love to run the option and have a 6-6 DE/LB. They only run a handful of plays but do so to perfection and they are fairly athletic.

*That comes directly from the DCoord of a team CDP played this season.

With that said, I expect them to use a bit more play action and throw things at CW that they haven't ran much this season especially early on.

Coldwater will punch Deer Park in the mouth and totally dominate this game. CHL teams do not have a good track record when playing teams from the MAC. Coldwater is probably too classy to do it, but it wouldn’t break my heart if they ran up the score and embarrass Deer Park - just like their imported aau basketball team did to many of their opponents last year.

You mean it wasn't necessary to beat teams like St. Bernard and Cincinnati College Prep by 60 points???

I think Heard has been out for a few weeks. Don't know if he's playing this weekend.

What the?

I was looking at the Vamps power rankings and they have 1-9 Parkway just behind Deer Park. What values are used in this ranking? I find it really hard to believe a inept team like Parkway being that good.

Calpreps projects the outcome Deer Park 31 Parkway 28, if they met

Also per Calpreps
If Parkway played Deer Park's schedule they would finish 7 - 3
If Deer Park played Parkway's schedule they would finish 2 - 8

Id probably take Parkway still but it would be a close game. Parkway could score points but they didn't have a defense.

If the weather holds out, we'll be tailgating on the NE corner of the park. Just across the street from the stadium. Any Deer Park fans that make an early trip are welcome to stop over.

I bet Coldwaters coaching staff is really wishing they had a game vs a more fundamental team and not the athletes they are going to face in Deere Park. This is the kind of game where bad habits can instantly be formed and may take a while to work back out.

When things come too easy you may believe you are too good, as a mentally undeveloped man size youth. At least they can work on things back at practice Monday if the second string is not too sore from the game.

I remember one very well (not involving Coldwater, but evidence we sometimes do remember a bad call that goes our way), likely altered a games outcome, and was a rather pivotal game (regional final) .The team went on to win a state title but that one blown call always left me wondering about earning it?

Absolutely.

Against MSML: WR started early and I want to say he was the recipient of a long pass as the whole defense just froze. Happened right in front of the MSML bench.

We're supposed to get around 2.5 inches of rain by Friday morning and judging by the state of our grass, I wonder if we'll be able to play the game here. Cavalier Stadium's grass has been terrible all year.

To say a team could come out of whack because they are playing a team of athletes who dont play fundamentally.

First off, when you are facing a heavy option team a defense has to be extremely disciplined to stay home, more so than many other offenses,

Also your whole premise is obtuse.

With that said, I expect the field to be in horrible shape. The recent rain, playing other games on the field in the rain and also watering the field the week of the MSML game in addition to the precip during the game may have it nearly unplayable which wont help this CW offense, but will help the push to get a turf proposal off the ground
