Agree with this, any freshman that is not at those freshmen weights of 106/113 just, with rare exception, doesnít have the power/strength to go against 17-19 year old seniors.

Freshman shouldnít get to use JH state as seeding in HS, except for maybe at the low weight classes where mostly freshmen dwell. But you canít add it for just 1 or 2 weight classes so you canít really do it at all.

First tournament of the season my kid didnít get seeded. He was the second best kid in the weight class and finished second. Sometimes your second match is easier than your first when this happens but it is what it is. Just have to deal with it.

I do agree with the idea of direct challenges if a kid had already beat another head to head though. Too many tournaments donít allow this at all but it should be.

The 2 seed, at 126 was Keenan from SR (ranked 8 at D3 126 by Boro) and he got Ours in the first round. Terrible first round draw for him as the 2 seed. Ours pinned him inside of 1 min.

jmog: Another way to look at it is it would’ve been a terrible first round draw for anybody there in the bracket against Ours or Severs regardless of seeding.

D'alesio's win was 5-2 but I hate to say I don't think the kid from Fitch took one step forward the whole match seemed like D'alesio chased him the whole match... again just my opinion.... It seems they are starting to be very defensive against him and trying to keep the match close because he is very difficult to score on and hoping to pull off a last second victory.... again my opinion but he'll have to change up his style some to adapt to theirs?

The D2 Team Tournament and Sectionals/Districts are going to be really good around here.

If the refs allow it, do it. At districts theyíll call it a lot tighter, hopefully.

Through afternoon session:

Canfield 233 (6/10)
Louisville 221.5 (5/9)

Semifinals were relatively uneventful. Here are you finals pairings

113 - Roberts AF v Fletcher CAN (these two split matches last year)
120 - Lautzenheiser LSV v Mayes JEF (Mayes pinned SQ Edelman PV in his semi)
126 - Rhoads LSV v Ours BVL
132 - A. Delgarbino GIR v Richards AF (Delgarbino 8-6 over Potts BVL in one of the relatively few tight matches of the semis, Richards 2-1 over Pennington ALL on a TD at the horn)
138 - Sutton AF v Wright BVL (Wright 3-1 in OT on takedown right before clock expired against Mickley LSV, was best match of the round)
145 - Lasure BVL v Kennedy LSV
152 - Leonard LSV v Krulik BVL (Krulik outlasted Rodgers ALL 5-4)
160 - Reinhart CAN v Severs BVL (Severs 2-0 vs. Reinhart this year)
170 - Smith BVL v Takacs GV (Takacs gave up the first takedown then rallied back for 8-5 win over Cutrer CAN)
182 - D'Alesio CAN v M. O'Horo BOA (D'Alesio 13-5 over Ginneti WB, six takedowns; D'Alesio beat O'Horo 2-0 at mid-week, but O'Horo won when they met in last year's conference final)
195 - Crawford CAN v K. Marra WB
220 - Stein CAN v Robbins LSV (rematch of the Brecksville final Stein won)
285 - J. DelGarbino GIR v Wirth BVL

D'alesio an 8-1 winner over Ohoro... Almost pinned him at the end but time ran out, kinda thought it would be a different result in the 2nd meeting. As far as Ohoro winning last year that was medical forfeit because he had a bad ankle all season that was reinjured at the beginning of the match and the coach thought it best to not continue due to the team and individual state tourney around the corner which was a good call for sure...

If you don't toot his horn then who will... I don't think anyone is underestimating him - everyone has their own bias. Fortunately, we have a tournament at the Schott that brings the season and all the questions to an end for another year. Until then it is all speculation based on various pieces of data mixed with a little bit of personal bias.

Until the Schott this is everyone's

Who was in the HOF class of 2019? Also, what in the world is going on at Jackson-Milton? They have hit rock bottom, only having one kid take 5th place is not the JM I used to know.

Thanks! I'm still wondering how Adam Hoppel and Andy Lamancusa are not in? Both are state champions and placed top 3 multiple times.
