No "BAM!" from you ?

BAM! is actually the name of a restaurant down your way. Maybe they would hire Sashi ?

I've been more critical of the talent than the coaching, but the penalties and play calling have me wondering today.

I guess when you'replaying the guy who started camp as your 4th stringer at QB, expectations should be low.

Or when he "gives you the best chance to win", you're sure to be drafting high.....

Broncos' back-up QB is in - Brock lobster! Can a QB paid by the Browns go without an INT today ? He may have to go the whole second half....

We suck. This rebuild thing is a process.

I wouldn't have expected this reaction from you, tbh. Most of the regular fans will jump on to the media hate-train when these lame goofs try to stir up emotion to try to keep people from tuning out, but I'd expect a more sober view from you.

You didn't get sucked in by the "Pre-season Champions!!" thing, did you?!?
Talking about process is all well and good...there have to be signs of progress. This team is regressing. It's one thing to lose, they aren't even competitive.

Interesting info from PD today-

The nine players the Browns have so far in that original trade down from No. 2 with the Eagles last year - and it's spinoff trades - are not worth losing two potential franchise quarterbacks over.

They are Corey Coleman, right tackle Shon Coleman, quarterback Cody Kessler, receiver Ricardo Louis, safety Derrick Kindred, receiver Jordan Payton (cut this year), offensive lineman Spencer Drango, safety Jabrill Peppers and quarterback DeShone Kizer.

The Browns also have the Texans' first-round pick in 2018 from those trades and the Eagles' second-round pick in 2018.

The trade will look good if Kizer develops into a decent QB and bad if he does not ... or they get a quality QB with one of the future picks

The way things are going you'll be looking at Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen playing QB for the Browns next year

I could see them maneuvering their way out of that, a la Elway and Eli Manning.

Interesting article about sticking with the plan-

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/inde...incart_m-rpt-1

I've had similar thoughts to the author in that whoever would succeed the front office would walk into a good situation, similar to what David Griffin inherited with the Cavs. I just hope they start using the picks and actually draft talent.

Haven't read it yet, but they have to stick to the plan. There IS no alternative. Like my Shawshank escape analogy, they are crawling through the pipe. No way to turn around now.

We are in it as fans now. For sure.

Trivisono on the radio today referred to Jim Donovan's reporting of Peyton Manning's recent visit to Cleveland, admittedly with no proof of a face-to-face with his old friend and college booster from his years at Tennessee, Haslam. Then he took it a few steps further.

Sashi is VP only. The Browns are perhaps the only NFL team without a President. They also do not have a named GM. Maybe the only team with no GM. Today, everyone reports to Haslam. Triv is claiming that he believes those positions have been left open since the last front office clear-out to give Manning the time away from football that he wanted, and the right of first refusal. One needs only to understand pick value to trade down today to accumulate future picks. That and take the consensus #1 are most of what Sashi did. Any good contract lawyer can tank an NFL season....or two. Now that we need a real "football guy", I think they'll get one at the top.

This draft coming up is the one. Make or break. They have 5 picks in the first two rounds. If someone wanted to make their mark as an NFL exec, that's the ammo to make a splash.

So a few days ago, when I suggested that they could create a few new positions to bring someone in to pick the talent when it really matters, I had forgotten that the titles had been left vacant. Triv claims it's as plain as day.

It's at least plausible.

They sure could use a real front office talent guy, like Ron Wolf's kid. I get the plan, but you have to execute it at some point, picking the right players and not continuing to kick the can down the road, passing on difference makers like Wentz and Watson.

Sasha and the baseball guy look like a complete bust unless the Browns dominate the next decade.

The Bengals dominated a season......well, most of a season, until Andrew tried to tackle a 300lb D-lineman and scrapped the rest of the season. Complete bust, right ?

Sashi's a fine contract lawyer. That is why he was known to Haslam. Perhaps he has just been the caretaker of a tank-fest ? Hopefully he will have little to say about future player selection, and his only grade will be an incomplete as a de facto GM.
