I, Frankenstein (Australia-2014)

Sci-Fi/Action-Horror: So bad it made me angry... won't waste time on it... 1.5/8

Demon Wind (1990)

Horror: A group of friends end up at a broken down shack in the middle of nowhere and discover demons... This started out with an original "Evil Dead" feel but unfortunately the 2nd half could not deliver the punch.... 3.0/8

The Deadly Mantis (1957)

Creature Feature: YES!!!! GIANT BUG MOVIE!!!!! ... A large Mantis frozen in ice at the North Pole comes back to life when the ice breaks and heads south eating anything it comes across... main course: HUMANS!!!! ... Yes, this is bad movie but it was fun for me and that is all I care about .... 4.0/8

Dok (South Korea-2008)

Drama/Horror: The Pot: A family of 3 move on up to a high rise apartment in the sky.... They are convinced to join the local church by the residents and things start going wrong from that point on. I got lost about hour in which is not unusual with these Asian films.... The story was decent but I feel that I missed out on something ??? ... 4.0/8

Shaft (1971) ... 5.0/8

Argento's Dracula (Italy-2012)

Horror: The critics hated it and so did the fans of the genre and Argento so my expectations were very low. That was a good thing.... we have old school Dracula and of course Van Helsing as well as some beautiful woman. Throw in the typical Argento gore and this was actually not that bad.... I won't even mention the giant Praying Mantis.... Something must be wrong with me as I liked this film... not the borefest that everyone else states that it is.... 4.5/8

Birdman- 6.9/8

This is where I leave you - 4.5/8 - not as funny as I'd hoped. Too serious

Groundhog Day - 7.5/8 - Love it every time.

Jupiter Ascending

6/8

Ignore the clowns on Rotten Tomatoes and check this movie out! If you like big concept science fiction or thought "The Fifth Element" was seriously underrated you'll get a kick out of the Wachowski "brothers" latest acid trip.

Spectacular and imaginative production design and some very cool tech distinguish this movie from run of the mill action adventures. See it in 3D to fully experience the effects. Fun movie.

The Dead (UK-2010)

Horror: We have Zombies in Africa!!!!! An American Engineer is the sole survivor of a plane crash and now has to defend himself against the African elements as well as Zombies..... The critics say it was boring.... not for me, it did have one lag.... Not enough Zombies? no, there was plenty... the only thing missing was the lack of the African Wildlife but I guess the budget restricted that. This was a pretty good low-budget Zombie flick and having it take place in Ghana added to it!!!! ... 5.0/8

The Hideous Sun Demon (1959)

Horror/Sci Fi: Creature Feature Saturday.... going into this I knew it was a dud but was hoping for something out of it.... well, A doctor gets exposed to radiation and turns into a reptilian monster every time he is exposed to the sun.... The ending was decent but everything else was just boring.... 2.0/8

"John Wick" Not too bad (5) ~ Keanu Reeves is as bad a bad-azz as Liam Neeson
in the 'Taken" series.

Nice 1969 Mustang in the movie.

7 Below (US-2012)

Horror: Well, we have a group of strangers traveling to a resort or something and of course there van wrecks during a storm. A local helps them out but the group soon discovers something is not right.... this has Val Kilmer in it... come on man, maybe you should of stayed Jim Morrison. 7 Below was horrid.... 1.5/8

Black Forest (US-2012)

Horror/Fantasy: Here we go with a group again this time they are heading out to discover the so called magic of the Black Forest only to end up in a time warp that sends them to the real place where the Grim Fairy Tales really exist... I guess it was bad movie week for me as this also wasn't to my liking... at least they tried .... 2.0/8

The Horror of Frankenstein (UK-1970)

SciFi/Horror: HAMMER TIME!!!! This was the 6th of the 7 Hammer Frankenstein films but this one was not actually a part of the others and stands on it's own. The story is the same... Dr. Frankenstein builds a monster but it is a bit different and frankly more entertaining then some of the others thanks to the actor Ralph Bates who played Victor Frankenstein.... 5.0/8

Alien Abduction (2014)

Horror: Found Footage.... A family camping up in the Mountains of North Carolina see strange lights... I am a fan of found footage and like most, this was not the exception as it was also to my liking.... 5.0/8

The Earth Dies Screaming (UK-1964)

SciFi-Horror: In a blink of an eye just about everyone is dead with out explanation. A small group who somehow survive try to figure out what happened.... 4.5/8

Patrick (2013)

Horror: Remake... A mad doctor, a new nurse, and a coma patient..... something is not right with Patrick and the new Nursey is figuring it out but the Doc don't like..... 4.0/8

Slumber Party Massacre 2 (1987)

Horror: The younger sister of the surviving girl from the first movie is having reoccurring nightmares of the attack in the first movie.... she now believes that the dead rock-n-roll killer has somehow returned to slash up her and her friends!!!!! Not too good.... 2.5/8

The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears (Belgium-2013)

Horror/Surreal: Very gory and very out there.... A man returns from holiday to find his wife missing. He soon discovers secret passage ways in between the walls in the apartment complex. It's out there Jerry!!!!! Hard to follow or to make much sense of it but is very visual and disturbing.... 4.0/8

Mercy (2014)

Horror: The Walking Dead Kid stars in this one. Something is wrong with grandma, Mercy is based on a short story by Stephen King. It suffers from bad production values, poor acting, and just about everything else.... the story is interesting though if you can make it that far...... 2.5/8

I just saw this on Direct TV. The wife wanted to see it at the movies and kept making excuses why I didn't want to go. It was an above average movie and kept my interest. I am glad I waited so I didn't pay movie prices because I would have felt the movie wasn't the price. I did like that the movie had an outside the box plot which was nice to see.

I think Gyllenhall should have gotten an Oscar nomination, seriously, he was pretty damn awesome.

Full Metal Jacket- 1st half: 7/8, 2nd half 2/8, composite: 4.5/8.
