Region 13: Indian Creek (8-2) at Hubbard (9-1)

Let's start it off. The Eagles (9-1) need to shake off a tough last second loss(winning score with 9 seconds left) to a dramatically improved Youngstown East team in week 10. East is the fastest team in region 13 imo and shouldn't be counted out as a team who can knock off any of the top dogs. Hoping for a dry night next Saturday unlike this past Friday where rain was steady and strong from the opening kickoff through the final whistle. Hubbard will be without starting running back Ralph Morales who may or may not return week 12 pending a Hubbard win this week. Will be interesting to see if Harris is 100%. He got banged up at Poland and only played about 5 plays vs East with no touches on offense. Donlow and Mosora are also candidates to fill in for Morales. Judging by scores Hubbard should be overwhelming favorites this week against a Indian Creek squad who lost by two scores to Alliance earlier in the season and had to come back to beat a pretty bad Edison team in week 10. Hubbard needs to rebound in a huge way and put this team away early. East exposed a couple weaknesses on defense that I think can be corrected. I'm expecting a big week out of the offense even with Morales sidelined. It's time to show your Grit Eagles. Shock the world. Any info on Indian Creek would helpful.

Indian Creek has a couple of tall receivers that may give the Eagles problems. Edison is their arch rival, so I wouldn't be surprised if that game was close.

Indian creek is lousy. By far the worst of the 8 teams in the playoffs in region 13. This will definitely be a running clock game. Hubbard’s reserve team could more and likely drub creek. Just another example of too many teams making the playoffs.

Glad the Eagles are playing week 11 this year. The regular season goes by so fast. Here and gone in an instant.

Bounce back!

They have some size on the line. I believe their starting QB may be out. He was on crutches last week. I don’t think they can run with Hubbard but Hubbard’s down a couple horses. It’s war of attrition season. Whoever has healthy athletes left wins.

After watching 30 minutes or so of film on creek I agree they definitely have some size and a couple decent athletes. Kind of remind me of Struthers on tape except their QB doesn't look as sharp as Hall. 7 TDs 7 ints this year. Not sure who the backup is if its certain the starter from earlier in the year is out. Anywho it's Do or Die time. I like the Eagles big. Hubbard needs a without a doubt type win after last night. I'm sure Indian Creek will throw the kitchen sink at Hubbard.

This will be a running clock. Hubbard should come out mad. I expect Daniels to play huge. Then it’s big boy football the next week

Creek is dead meat! I believe Morales is done for the season after his 2nd ejection. Oshaa rule

Looking like hes done. Only chance would be the state overturning the second one by downgrading one of the unsportsmanlikes. Won't happen and sadly cant say he deserves leniency either. Pretty dumb knowing he was already ejected once this year. His loss imo is bigger on the defensive side of the ball. With Tarver already out thats two big time athletes the Eagles are missing on defense at outside linebacker. The fill ins are more than capable as Hubbard has a ton of depth but the Eagles lose speed with those two gone. Hope Harris and Donlow are 100%. It's go time.

I see Tarvers younger brother on the side lines....What the hell did he do that he is not around?

No details. Heard he was "dismissed" from the team.

Starting Qb got hurt 1st game of season, backup Qb has done a good job, he’s more of a dual threat, then a pocket passer. Creek has a few tall WR’s with good hands & some speed. O-line has some size & can at times control the line & open up holes for that running game. Starting RB was bagged up a little last game, but his back up rushed for over 100 yards, in a rivalry game vs Edison, on a muddy mess of a field, lol.
Creek’s Defense is always the backbone of the team. D-line is able to plug the gaps & keep the linemen off the LB’s. They change up defense fronts from 3-4, 4-3, 5-2, and even 6-2. LB’s are stout & swarm to the ball, CB’s & SS’s have some size & speed . As always this far along in the season teams are dealing with injuries, and Creek is no different.
As for Creek’s schedule, they play in the Buckeye 8, and I’ll leave it at that, lol.
The lose to Alliance was a disappointment, but turnovers & penalties and some would even say play calling killed any hopes of a win in that game. Losing to St. Clairsville (10-0, Region 15, #1 seed), 14-7 ot, was a battle on a stormy night with lightning delays. That game just seemed to drag on forever, lol.
What this game wil come down to with Creek, turnovers - penalties - play calling

Appreciate the input Canoli. I assume you're a fan of Indian Creek or a fan of a team in their league? Its tough to say with Hubbard. At 100% they're one of the more talented teams in the Youngstown area and in this region. Even with a few dings and our starting running back we still have a lot of speed/size. Hubbards offense flows through do all quarterback Davion Daniel's. He's usually the fastest kid on the field but can throw a decent ball when needed to. I will say the weather lately has definitely hurt Hubbards ability to throw the ball. More than likely Indian Creek will key on Daniel's and make Hubbard beat them with their other athletes. Hubbards lines are big and pretty deep usually able to wear down their opponent in the third and fourth quarters while rotating fresh players. This could be the best time to catch Hubbard coming off their only loss or the worst possible time. Time will tell.

Indian Creek is looking for its first playoff win. I don't think they get it this week. Good luck to both teams.

Hahaha. The only thing creek has a chance to win is the coin toss . Seriously though a win for creek would be to keep it under 30.

I think this Gabe can be a game where Hubbard can work on some things and add some wrinkles into the mix. Odem will have a big night I’m thinking, also the backup qb Hubbard gas is solid I would bring him and Daniels I’m at the same time.

I think a lot of people are pointing to the quality of those opponents. Indian Creek lost to 2 of the 4. The crestview win is probably IC best win this season. It's my opinion that Hubbard will be the best team creek has faced by a long shot. Indian Creek will probably be the 4th or 5th best team Hubbard has seen thus far.

Gonna be a long ride back to the Creek. I think Hubbard losing helps give them a weak to regroup and get a win before meeting the other team from down on the river. If that team gets by Buchtel.

Seeing both teams play, I think Hubbard will roll in this one. Hubbard is bigger faster and stronger in every capacity..I heard you lost your starting RB. Shame, that kid was a one man wrecking crew.
