Division VI Region 21

This region was dominated by Kirtland 13, 14, and 15. In 2016 Cuyahoga Heights knocked the hornets off and took the region, but the redskins are now down to D7 and Kirtland is the prohibitive favorite once again.

Brookfield (Brookfield)
Brooklyn (Brooklyn)
Cardinal (Middlefield)
Columbia (Columbia Station)
Columbiana (Columbiana)
East Palestine (East Palestine)
Independence (Independence)
Kirtland (Kirtland)
Liberty (Youngstown)
Lutheran East (Cleveland Hts)
Mc Donald (Mcdonald)
Memorial (Campbell)
Mineral Ridge (Mineral Ridge)
Mogadore (Mogadore)
Norwayne (Creston)
Oberlin (Oberlin)
Pymatuning Valley (Andover)
Rootstown (Rootstown)
Smithville (Smithville)
Southern (Salineville)
Springfield (New Middletown)
Trinity Hs (Garfield Hts.)
United (Hanoverton)
Waterloo (Atwater)
Waynedale (Apple Creek)
Wellington (Wellington)
Western Reserve (Berlin Center)

There's the list of teams, the teams I think will be fighting for the playoff spots are:

Brookfield
Columbia Station
Columbiana
East Palestine
Independence
Kirtland
McDonald
Mogadore
Norwayne
Smithville
Springfield
Western Reserve

EP will have to win their first two games in order to possibly make the playoffs. This new EOAC has no point potential other than maybe Columbiana, but that remains to be seen.

They'll be fine if they sweep through the EOAC, all those guaranteed points from conference games, plus a lot of the EOAC teams have favorable out of league schedules to where they can pick up wins. Given Columbiana's out of league schedule (I'm not sure how good they'll be without Davidson) they may not be worth many points compared to say Lisbon who should go 3-0 OOL

As for the region as a whole going in, if I had to power rank I'd go:
1: Kirtland
2/3: Norwayne/Mogadore
3-12: Rest of the playoff contenders listed above.

You know more about this division 6 region than I do. I've been use to D4 and D5. I'd say United would be worth more on OOL since they carry Salem and Minerva.
If EP wins the first two against Salem and Perry, they should have no problem running the table in the EOAC. But, that remains to be seen.

But United has to win those games for it to matter. This region has been tough to get into period the last handful of years. Since 2013 when they added the 7th division, only 5/16 (31%)of the 7-3 teams have qualified. You need 8-2 to feel confident about making it. Compared to the D5 region counterpart where 7-3 has gotten in 10-13 times in the same period.

Liberty will compete for a playoff spot. They played well against some decent competition last season. Got killed against good teams but they are d6 and have the potential to pull off some quality wins.

Waynedale would be quite the turnaround given their 2016

Even 8-2 is not a guarantee in this region...it's brutal. Lisbon would have been on the bubble at 8-2 the last two years. Three years ago, we went 7-3 and finished 12th in the region. Same record would have gotten us in the playoffs in D5 easily...maybe even would have hosted like Crestview did that year.

My point exactly. With the new EOAC, 9-1 or 10-0 will be needed.

Probably would have needed 8-2 or 9-1 with last years schedule to make the playoffs in R21.

Last year (as a D5) EP played 1 - D4, 2 - D5's, 4 - D6's & 3- D7's.

This year...only 5 schools smaller than EP, compared to 7 last year. Just a tougher region. Maybe you guys will get some larger classes coming through and get back up to D5 soon.

Salem, D4 still?
Perry, ??
Campbell, ??
United, D6
Wellsville, D7
Southern, D7
Leetonia, D7
Toronto, D7
Lisbon, D7
Columbiana, D6

Larger classes? 160 is usually D5, but thanks to CB we are down here. Perry is D4 and Campbell is 6.

Well no 8-2 has missed yet and Lisbon at 8-2 the past 2 years would have made it, but I agree if things break the right way an 8-2 could be left out. You are right about 2015, Lisbon would've been the 4 seed in D5 that year hosting. McDonald, who ended up 9th in 2015 would've made it as a 7 seed in D5 that year.

It'll be very interesting in that this year, McDonald, Reserve, Springfield, and Columbiana all play each other while Brookfield plays mcd and spr, so the results of those games will be a big factor on who makes it to week 11 and some of them will be de-facto elimination games.

I was basing it on the min/max two years ago. Beating Crestview locked us into the playoffs. If we would have lost, there was still a chance that Lisbon wouldn't have made it. It was just crazy to think that...

Region 21 is going to be fun to watch this year...again.

Whoever gets out of THAT region will be able to beat the baddest of the bad...good Lord, they should be able to beat freakin' WAYNE, and that's not much of an exaggeration! Kirtland, please make it out as #1...we need a rematch.
Please ignore this post, everyone. Thankfully, most ML fans aren't like this and know that whoever comes out of this region will be battle-tested and a tough out.
