Way Too Early Football Poll For Division VI (Results)

Just to get an idea of who to watch out for, we are going to run a football poll for each division one week at a time. This week will be for Division VI.

This will not replace the "official" poll that will come out much closer to the season.

Voting ends Friday (05/19) at Noon. Get your votes in now.

Wow, this is a pathetic division. Definitely weakest division of the seven. The top 2 should walk all over the rest.

I don't believe you'll see a MAC team in the DV playoffs. Anna and Versailles won't win enough games against good teams to get the Harbin Points necessary to get in.

Marion Local.
Kirtland..

Ft Recovery's qb graduated. They have a nice RB but I project them to miss the playoffs this year as they overstepped their scheduling with VV and look for them to lose a few league games.

After that........Doesn't matter......

2015 went 12-1 in D-IV lost to steub
2016 went 9-2 in D-IV lost to steub
lost alot of tallent from last two years....

Never mind, I just talked my self out of the top ten in my head..

Coldwater has to be the favorite after almost a decade of domination in larger divisions, plus they now have the 3rd highest male enrollment in the division. Maybe a team can get lucky and stay within a few TD's.

Then in there somewhere: Ft Recovery, Mechanicsburg, Covington (?), Cuyahoga -- I think all those are still DVI?

Surprised to see Ottawa Glandorf not anywhere on this list. Especially considering that there will likely be relatively few strong programs in the NW Region of D5.

They beat some pretty good teams last year including Celina, Elida and Saint Mary's in the regular season. Saint Mary's made the D4 top ten, but I've heard they lost a lot to graduation. OG playoff wins include Bellevue and a very good Indian Lake team. They also gave Hartley all they could handle in a 38-35 regional championship loss.

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stor...hroughout.html

Moving down to D5 after playing a mostly D3 and D4 regular season league schedule will make them a tough any year they make the playoffs. Hartley has knocked them out of the playoffs each time, but OG is 5-0 against all others in their last 3 appearances.

If they win 7-8 games with their schedule, they will be a top 10 team in D5.

Didn't know that. Doubt many filling out the poll did either.

Too bad. Just won a big scholar-athlete award from Army/NFL Hall of Fame. Seems like a great kid.

With Kaufman, easily a top 10 D5 team. Without him, I still think that if they win 7-8 games in the WBL against bigger teams, they will make some noise in the playoffs.

They've been in the playoffs 10 of the last 12 years, that's not luck or 1 stud QB.

Remember the Titans.

This is ML's year against CW...after their third game, those two positions will switch. Looking forward to this game...Sep 8th at Coldwater. Mark your calendars. For those who think "real" football is played only in the highest divisions, this night will change your mind. Also, you can't win the $14,000 (your take) 50/50 if you're not there. And yes, its completely possible it will be that high!

On defense they loose 8 kids plus there DC. From what I hear them kids loved playing for him. So that will be hard to replace.
Miamisburg will be solid again this season. Yes the program lost a lot of seniors especially Josh (big shoes to fill). We get Springboro at home so that is the swing game between 8-2 and 9-1. The same was said after the 2015 squad that graduated a ton of Seniors & this group of Junior and Seniors is much deeper and more talented than the 2016 squad that went 9-1. I personally respect the previous DC but the new DC is an upgrade.

Uh no matter how you cut it, 180 linemen and backs who run 4.9 or worse. Small school football is what it is, a lot of fun but not relevant state wise.

Sure, and the WNBA is just as competitive as the NBA...+1 for political correctness.

The Johnnies didn't just lose to Steubenville, they were anniliated. I think we scored 90+ points in those two games. The QB was a great player/runner, but they just were zero threat in the passing game. Does the old adage hold true:

THE GOOD THING IS THEY HAVE EVERYONE BACK,THE BAD THING IS, THEY HAVE EVERYONE BACK!!)

Didn't realize Cuyahoga Heights dropped to D7. Do they return much from last year? Shutting out Kirtland twice and nearly knocking off Marion Local in the finals was impressive.

STA is not a top 10 team this year. Supposedly they only have 20 kids out this year grades 9-12. They play a challenging schedule where lack of depth will impact them greatly. If they were playing a division 7 schedule, they'd be ok. Playing the teams they play this year though will be very difficult physically to get through 10 games. It's going to be rough the next few years.
