2017-2018 OHSAA enrollment figures are out (1993 numbers in parentheses). Keep in mind competitive balance will affect some of these schools. The Parochial schools for sure and I know Oregon Clay and Genoa have open enrollment. Unsure about how many others are open. If not for competitive balance, and based off of last years divisional cut-offs, which is a moving target each year, Toledo CC would be D-IV.

Whitmer - 802 (825)
Findlay - 617 (762)
St. Johns - 500 (530)
Fremont Ross - 438 (600)
Oregon Clay - 414 (454)
Lima Sr. - 406 (535)
St. Francis - 400 (490)
Central Catholic - 228 (455)

Perrysburg - 571 (489)
Anthony Wayne - 496 (405)
Northview - 473 (472)
Southview - 411 (471)
Springfield - 407 (434)
Bowling Green - 314 (439)
Maumee - 272 (423)
Napoleon - 247 (356)

TCL numbers not in.
Start (560)
Bowsher (502)
Rogers (450)
Woodward (367)
Waite (485)
Scott (388)

Fostoria - 186 (271)
Otsego - 182
Genoa - 156
Rossford - 153
Lake - 152
Eastwood - 140
Elmwood - 137
Lakota - 125
Woodmore - 120

Sandusky - 314 (430)
Perkins - 243
Oak Harbor - 156

The way I understand the new Competitive Balance proposal I do not see Central Catholic jumping to D-II. The Irish will more than likely wind up D-III again.

What balance, a true game changer.

Wait till DeVos cranks up the vouchers, Catholics schools are going to start getting 2 for 1.

SJ turning up the heat. On top of the previous hinted guy they are courting another successful local. For them, really local. Lets see if they can get enough alums to pony up?

Only successful really local would be Dempsey. Spreading out a bit, P-Burg and Vicars. Are there others?

Springfield went 10-0 last season, that's pretty "local" for SJJ

If SJJ waits any longer to find a head coach they may end up with Lane Kiffen...

Since all the big names SJ has approached have turned the school down will the Titans revert back to hiring their freshman coach?

Since they're snagging bball players from there, might as well go to Fremont to find a FBall coach. Worked before.

Larry McDaniel. Former Bowling Green and Indiana University DL coach.

Good hire. Needed an outside guy and they got one. A lot of talent in that school.

They don't at SJJ. They DO at Indiana if...
Quote:
During McDaniel's two seasons in Bloomington, IU's rushing defense ranked 10th in 2014 and 13th in 2015. IU's sack total did increase, however, from 23 sacks in 2014 to 30 sacks in 2015. Indiana ranked 11th in total defense in 2014 before slipping to last in the Big Ten in total defense in 2015, allowing 509 yards per game.
But to the good

Quote:
We want to thank Larry for his contributions to our program," Wilson said in the release. "He has represented IU well as a coach and former player. We appreciate Larry's efforts and wish him and his family the very best."
Seems amicable enough. Should be a nice addition to the local scene.

I'll take Nick Holley over Deshone Kizer and beat the crap out of your team. You'll have the better QB but I'll have the better offense.

Looks like a team that could compete with the best in the state.

In 1991 the City of Toledo and TPS went through a terrible downturn and mass exodus. From 1992-1999 the area as a whole (TCL, NLL, SLL) saw MAYBE 15 kids go D-I. On top of that with Macomber winning the basketball title in 1989 and Scott in 1990 round ball was king.

I honestly give a lot of credit to folks like Rick Rios who brought football back to city kids. Guys like him not only made it fun again (no more 95% run offenses) but taught kids the impact it could have on their future (kids started to go places ie: Earl, Sample, Lewis, Humphreys, Edwards, Davis, etc...).

Coach did a great job. Another I can think of would be Matt Davis at Scott. He sent a few on that did well athletically and academically.

How many of those kids that did so well in TRAC came from TPS districts? Hard to know whether the upsurge in talent was on its way at the time of TPS' discontinuance of sports or if it would have been left undiscovered or would have ended up where it rested regardless. Certainly those with families long time in Washington local or histories with CCHS would have good cases. Others might well have remained in their TPS school, if not for the discontinuance and the new league.

Wade from CCHS not mentioned? Am I missing him on the list? It's the only name that jumps out at me
