2017 Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC)

I think Whitmer with a superstar QB and a potential superstar RB should be considered the team to beat in 2017. Thoughts....

Vicars comes back to Clay and stomps the league. If not, yeah seems reasonable. Central had some close games against the big boys and can't think of a reason for them to be better unless they find themselves a pocket QB and a teacher of defense.

I didn't get to see Central Catholic's backup QB play as much as I expected this year, but I heard he has potential. He'll have to be a leader of that offense with Warren graduating and will have plenty of skilled targets. Should be interesting to see if the Irish use a similar offense to the one they used in the DeShone Kizer era.

It's Oregon, I'm allowed to rub it in a bit. Still... would have been interesting to see if he'd stayed. Seems a fine line between competitive and not.

Central Catholic's Jeremiah Braswell scored YSU's last TD today in their loss to James Madison (28-14) in the FCS National Championship.

Prior to today, who was the last Toledo area kid to score a TD in a NCAA National Championship game?

hmmm, define "area." I'd guess Micheli or Kmic.... don't know if they'd been the "last" though. Don't even know if they scored. Can't think of anyone else.

Well done. Nate Kmic of Delta for Mount Union in 2008 against Wisconsin-Whitewater in the DIII Stagg Bowl Championship.

I actually covered that 2008 game for the Fulton County Expositor. My photos of Kmic were front page stuff. Cecil Shorts III was also in that game.

Prior to Nate Kmic, who was the last Toledo area kid to score a TD in a NCAA National Title game OR bowl game to decide the National Title?

It must be that Raymer/Garfield education...East is a little salty sometimes so I'm guessing he went to Birmingham.

Birmingham: are more of the hug-it-out types, how they impress me.

Other than that, I can't think of an Eastsider I know that wouldn't be in the "salty" catagory. jordan's comback, definitely salty but with spelling skills. Maybe he's gone soft in older age, don't know. He was a Mason St. kid, I was Franklin. Between puddle and here, I think there've been a few others. All pretty much would hear you out, measure what you say, rightious and let you know when you're being rude.

So shut up, I'm not "salty."

Franklin, the only 05 elementary they haven't figured out how to knock down. They will eventually and it will be a shame. Those old buildings were something else.

It's CCHS league until someone beats them. A sophomore QB and potential "good" RB shouldn't worry anybody just yet.

Hung out with a Franklin kid when I was young. Good ball player, heck of a "Strike-Out" player. Invited him over to the house afterwards and all of my dads hubcaps were gone the following morning. Typical .

They looked better on the Huffy than the buick. I mean that's uh, probably what the person that did that did you know, because..

Franklin: I don't recall any architectural features worth saving. It's closed now, not used at all I think.

The candidate pool is so poor their reaching out and recruiting donors to pay up.

That guy that coaches at that salt water school? They better get some serious donors because he is making some good dough up there as an assistant principal and coach. Well over $100K.
