I agree BHS, Howland will be back, and I think the potential at Howland is far greater than that at Struthers. But maybe he is just happier there

Why? Do you want to list reasons or

Struthers has a much better team coming up the next few seasons AND they have a conference. Back to back playoff trips helps too. Struthers is in great shape moving forward!! Howland not so much.

They don't seem to have much to offer. No league or schedule in 2019, I guess they could play wgh, Boardman and Fitch but that would be bad news. Small roster with average talent. Looks like will down for awhile, maybe some young coach will be dumb enough to take the lumps that will come with the job.

I think the big problem for Howland is that they rapidly transitioned from being a great job as the big fish in a small pond to suddenly being caught between being a small fish in a big pond to no pond at all.

I mean Menendez did a solid job. 6-4 this year, given the schedule, was pretty impressive. They gave a healthy Boardman team a good game for a half, came close to beating Padua on the road, and beat Akron East in week 10. Howland never had a schedule that challenging in the heights of the Angle era when they were pretty much a playoff team every year. They basically had 1-2 tough games a year depending on if Canfield and Poland were both good. Most years it was just one or the other. JFK was probably their 2nd or 3rd toughest game most seasons. It's just going to be a tough place to win if they can't find a good league fit.

And I doubt the group that went with Bayuk first to Harding and now to JFK are going to leave that spot.

But when would Kuntz leave and for what job?

It would be silly to wait forever.

If he's like his father, he won't be at Struthers that much longer. Jeff liked to move around, he started applying for different jobs when he coached at Hubbard, I remember he applied for the Hickory Pa. job around his forth year. The only reason he stayed at Hubbard so long is because no one offered him another job at the time or he would of been long gone.

Also, John Bayuk can still coach at another school while teaching at Struthers, his father did it for years after leaving Hubbard but still taught there. So that excuse just doesn't work.

That simply doesn't matter, his father taught at Hubbard but coached at numerous schools.

Nice try though.....

If he wanted to stay, he wouldn't of applied for other jobs, especially since he lives here and taught here. Everybody thought he was happy here. When the Hubbard faithful heard he was applying for other jobs, some of them felt slighted, especially the ones in the booster clubs. The common opinion was if you don't want to be here Jeff then get out.

Don't think for a moment if the right job comes up for his son he wouldn't direct him in that direction. That's just totally understandable.

All in all, Jeff Bayuk made Hubbard football what it is now and no one can ever take that away from him. There's gratitude there and always will be.

Wilmington would be the only one worth going after over there. Middlesex and Mercer are just terrible. Not sure he could get the greyhounds job though, they are a very close knit community that rarely goes outside of their own. I have been hearing some serious buzz of more of a lateral move with more concrete future plans in place.

I heard Hubbard did not want to commit to Jeff for more than one season. Upon hearing that Jeff started to apply elsewhere. Perhaps he didnít feel like they appreciated the work he put into that program because we all know where they were before him. Guy should have the field named after him

Middlesex was actual the school that was mentioned. Will be interesting to see over the next few years if he jumps ship or stays.

I was always told jeff left Hubbard to give Sikora the opportunity to coach his son John. Hubbard administration went a different route and it caused a lot of bad blood. Micky was a good guy but I'm not sure he'd have been much better for Hubbard than Hoffman is.
