Region 21 is brutal. You have to go 8-2 to get in...

Isn't much to comment, those who you picked, should win. Some are by how much and how many running clocks this week.

I'm a little skeptical of the Lisbon vs Southern game, wonder if they will try to sneak the imported players in at times?

Lots of people watching Southern, would not be a good idea to use their imports.

Should be two competitive games and two not so much. Wellsville will get better as the year goes on but not ready quite yet. Would not shock me if Southern knocks off Lisbon. You would think they would be smart enough to sit everyone the correct amount of games but you never know.

Wellsville got physically beat up tonight. It was EP 57-39 when I left. Wellsville scored on the EP JV's late.

EP better get their defense on track, too many points being given up on big plays.

I was just saying if the Dogs gave up that much to Wellsville, should be a very high scoring game against Columbiana

Ya, I know, I just forgot the fact it could have been 63-39.

EP-Columbiana big rivalry. Either could win, regardless of record.

Dogs will have no problem scoring points against Columbiana, but their offense if they get going can put up points quick. But missed xp will kill you. Cost McDonald the game against Columbiana by missing 4 of them

Wellsville missed more than that game was closer than score indicates EP scored on a 4th and 13 and wellsville touched a shanked punt that EP recovered that would have given wellsville the ball at EP's 30 before halftime. EP scored on the next play. EP had no answer for Justin Wright kid must have had 200 yards EP is definitely beatable the tigers are just too young and inexperienced right now but they're improving every week andtook a big step this week good job Tigers you're gaining valuable playing time now that will pay off big time the next 3 years.

Beatable, yes, Salem and Perry proved that, beatable by Wellsville, no.

Wright did have a pile of yardage, mostly long runs, and he is the only one that is a main threat. You cannot say Wellsville would have scored on the instances you mentioned.

Now let's discuss some of the controversial calls that EP received at key times. Holding on a long TD and a long run. Nice. You want to talk about should have beens, how about those? 120 yards of mostly bogus calls.

My concern is the Wellsville coaching staff letting kids play that were visibly hurt. One could hardly walk back to the line of scrimmage. If a player is hurting that bad, they should not be in.

BTW, stats show otherwise on your comment about Wright.

The league is turning out to be pretty interesting, with some big match-ups this week. EP vs Southern should be fun to watch and a close ball game. The same can be said for Columbiana vs Toronto. Can Wellsville continue to improve, and pull a mild upset over United?

Still only two playoff teams as it stands now. That D6 region is just a bear.

Who would have thought Wellsville would have been only 10 down at the half, besides me? I expected a scrappy Tiger team, but not the barrage of bogus penalties at key times that gave Wellsville first downs on 3rd and long several times and a couple TD's, keeping them in the game. I have to laugh at Vanilla Ice complaining EP scored on 4th & 13 and right after a Tiger fumble. Good teams do that.

Nothing like 2 Tiger scores on the JV team and then horn honking it was a close game. Almost 600 total yards and 57 points tells a different game.

Time to play the Southern/Wellsville squad that is eligible this coming week.

I can say this, Wellsville will be a good team if they can get their conditioning up to par. EP just physically beat the Tigers down in the 2nd half.

As far as the league, I do not like it, I don't have to like it and after a win, still no progress in the regional D6 standings.

Tigers seemed to handle dogs offense well thru 3...the young tigers handled it well...also curious was there a running clock?? The wright kid NEVER played a down football in past and dogs bite was just not fierce enough after seeing his stats...kid seems to have it...is he faster than the sherry kid?? Wright is a soph I believe..is sherry a Jr??

Also as I read from your posts on "PENALTIES"..
THAT is a discipline type thing...and YES as you stated the dogs need work on the fundamentals this week....PENALTIES like that against a very young, yes most played Jr hi football last year OR didn't even play WELLSVILLE team should NEVER HAPPEN...ESPECIALLY AS YOU STATED " THE TIGERS WERE PHYSICALLY BEAT UP"..basically in case you don't know PITBULL...THATS CALLED HEART OF A TIGER....good luck as your season goes on......

From what I saw EP can score from anywhere on the field. But the bulldogs can give up a score from anywhere on the field. Plus the Suggs kid had over 150 all purpose yards but according to Bulldog Wright is all they had. Ep better get ready to win some high scoring affairs if they are going to run the table in this league. Southern, Lisbon and Columbiana can all put points on the board. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.

You don't like the league because you don't gain any ground in the playoff hunt after a win. The problem is more with the region the Bulldogs are in than the league they are in.

I applaud you for your words of wisdom. Yes, that defense gives up points.
Wright was the one who did the most damage. Your team needs to condition better, too many cramps and why are injured kids still playing and not on the bench? That is a concern. That's the physical beating I spoke of.

You also avoided the "bogus calls" comment.

Penalties are penalties. Just because you didn't seem them didn't mean they didn't happen. . I know every game somebody gripes about the officials. But they call what they see even if you don't agree. The officials were from the Mahoning valley refs. association according to their shirts they wore on the field before the game. They are always looking for new officials you could always look to join them since you know all the calls are bogus. Now you didn't answer my question. The league is not the reason you are not in playoff position the region is the reason you are not in playoff position.

First off, you do not walk into varsity level, you go through the ranks. Take offense at the bogus comment? You have to admit 120 yards is excessive. Although some are judgment calls, some are questionable.

Second answer is no I do not like the league, period. Next year, if we go back to CB D5, what is good about this league then? It's nothing against the member schools. Remember the OHSAA will realign every year for Competitive Balance.
You forget EP is still a D5 in base enrollment, bumped down to D6 by CB inflated enrollment. United is in the same boat.

You should hope you move up to DV it would be a lot easier for you to make the playoffs. 4.2 would get you in right now. But not in D VI

D5 and D7 are both extremely weak outside the top 2 or 3 teams. D6 is stacked with really good teams
