I read this. It's a shame. They just started a new LL program a few years ago and I am guessing did not have the controls and checks/balances in place that a program like Tallmadge does. People sometimes get frustrated with the "red tape" (especially me!) but this is why that is a good idea.

There are people in Tallmadge that would disagree with your assessment.

Disagree with what? I'd say that assessment is spot on. It is a shame. Green most likely did not have the proper safe guards in place. Seems to be a real problem in Green as it wasn't long ago that GYF had similar issues. You surely are not sticking up for this POS are you?

No, not sticking up for Green people. There are some head banging moments with the TLL Board. More transparency with the TLL financials would be a good change.

No wonder Green is so prosperous, just go volunteer for the youth sports and you're set.

My experience with TLL and other non-profits is that people get frustrated when they don't know why things cost so much, where the money is being spent, and how things work. H2 is right, you want to know more be more involved. It's the same way with travel ball, people accuse program directors of bilking people for money but have no concept what it takes to run a program. Umpire fees, field rentals, tournament fees, insurance, uniforms, equipment, field dry, chalk, repairs on fields and equipment, dirt, grass seed, weed killer, utilities, legal fees, and on and on. There is a difference between not liking how things are run or the culture of an organization, with suggesting someone is doing something inappropriate. If people have an issue they should contact the Prez or someone on Executive Board and ask for a meeting or a phone call.
