The snafu with officials was not because they were not getting paid. There was a clear misunderstanding, as the referees believed they were to be paid in cash but Aiken was paying through the traditional way of paying refs - vouchers. There were referees signing vouchers.

Agreed, there were a few glitches in the organizational nature of this event. The initial event last summer was not nearly of the stature of this year's event. It started with Cincinnati Christian University pulling out of sole sponsorship, and organizers not finding this out until one month prior to the proceedings. Pros and cons will be discussed by organizers with the end result deleting the bugs and presenting an even more productive experience for all.

I think the competition was there. There were some very good teams... the organization could use an overhaul but that will happen. I saw the lineman challenge and a few things struck me: #1 Each team should have 5 designated linemen, I saw some school pull their skill kids to do the running stuff. #2. Everything should be a 5 man deal. Like the shuttle run should be the lowest time of the 5 combined linemen and the med ball throw should be the combined distance of all 5 then you rank them and assign points accordingly. 1st- 10 2nd- 8 3rd-6 4th- 4 and 5th- 2.

You also want the lineman stuff to happen during the round robin portion because teams pack up and leave when they're done... only 5-6 teams participated in the tug O war. Which brings me to the last piece of advice for a lineman challenge, if you're not going to do something where you can add up times, distances, etc... don't do it. 1 man tug o war where only 2-3 kids from each team randomly go and only doing a 2 man sled push (should've been a 5 man sled) isn't fun. Do the field events early.. like your 5-10-5 shuttle and med ball throw and then get in the weight room, do reps of weight or whatever

If Withrow came in 3rd, how did they lose to Goshen's JV? And how did Withrow look with them having a new coach?

They came in 3rd in the Lineman deal but there was no 3rd place game for 7v7. They didn't lose to Goshen's JV
